You've got that right. He's rank rotten most of the time. I really don't know what's happened to Tav. Maybe the job's too big for his shoulders, he wouldn't be the first to suffer from that.

You could pretty much take any player from that team and they'd walk into any Rangers team that came after them. For example, take a truly wonderful player like Ralph Brand, has there been a better inside forward since?

Ralph was running into spaces that others never knew existed ?

I’ve been thinking about this and you’re right. In the role of assistant striker he was so good he was the chief striker. He didn’t have to do a lot of the fetch and carry stuff because of the long range passing ability of McMillan and Baxter and the fact that so many attacks were launched from the wings. I wonder how many he scored from Jimmy Millar nod-downs.
