Scottish Cup Final. St Johnstone v Hibs

Good chance for St Johnstone to do a cup double which would be a good achievement. Hopefully they do it.

Of course, you are correct.

Callum Davidson comes across as one of the good guys and Glen Middleton is doing well with Saints.

However, and this has nothing to do with Hibs, I can see no positives to them picking up the cup. Marginally, I hope Hibs win it to ensure misery is visited upon Stuart Cosgrove. He is the epitome of a pompous Rangers hating cnut.

Hibs. Not the Rod Petrie Hibs. But the old days Hibs and the Hibs of O’Rourke, Stanton, Brownlie and others. Many a pleasant afternoon at Easter Road when I couldn’t afford the ‘bus fare to a better place.

Absolutely.

I loved that Eddie Turnbull Hibs side. Back in the early 70s, my game with Fir Park Boys Club would finish after 13.30hrs and if Rangers were away, or I couldn't get a lift to Ibrox; I would look to see if Hibs were playing in the Lanarkshire/Glasgow proximity. I marvelled at the Hibs midfield trio, Stanton, O'Rourke and, Edwards. I think the Scotland world cup squad in West Germany in 1974 had five Hibs players included, all deserved.

It was a thing back in the day, 'neutrals' would go to watch teams for the football.

You have to go and ruin things ?

To be honest I havent heard him for a long long time - the benefits of being an expat abroad.

Agree about Davidson though - comes across very well. Pretty sure they were bottom of the league when he took over.

50 minutes and St J lead 1-0. Hibs had three decent chances before some primary school defending by Hins in the midst of Saints’ dithering allowed Wotherspoon to elegantly control the ball, make an inch of extra space and swing in a perfect cross for Rooney to finish with an unsaveable header.

Middleton’s just had a Gazza-like break and almost scored.

Poor game, though. I’ll try the Rugby League. It’s usually better.

EDIT St Helens v Leeds, great. Unfortunately it’s the dames so back to Hampden.
