SNP - the madness continues

Recommended Posts

No one under the age of 25 should have a right to vote.

Voting should not be a right of citizenship but a right of citizens who have contributed to the community in the right manner and for a sufficient period of time.

1. Criminal convictions resulting in a custodial sentence should mean denial of voting rights for ten years following completion of sentence.

2. Similarly, people should only be able to vote after paying taxes for a minimum of 2 years.

3. People in full time education should not be able to vote.

4. If you don't have a UK passport, you don't have a vote.

Voting is a privilege, not a universal right. It should be a serious business for serious people, not adolescents who have contributed nothing and have yet to demonstrate a commitment to the community. Nor is voting a right of people who have shown an inability or unwillingness to participate in community life or adhere to society's laws.

I agree with. No representation without taxation except some will not be paying tax through no fault of their own. I don’t know how to provide for that.

There's no provision needed. If you haven't paid tax for a sufficient part of the previous number of years then no vote.

The creepy weirdness of the SNP and its efforts to come between parents and their children has to be the ultimate socialist nightmare. I can't think of a more fundamental act of state totalitarianism than removing parental responsibility for children. Who in their wildest dreams would have thought such bizarre and dangerous lunacy would take root in Scotland of all places?

Well, if we get our way, the electoral count will take about half an hour.

Also no postal vote for anyone except for certified medical reasons. Holidays? Too bad.

Fishermen, offshore workers, armed forces etc?

Anyway my point is that the voting age should be increased not lowered, very few 16 yos are in full time work nowadays,  most are still in education and by definition still in need of guidance and mentoring.

Only when a degree of responsibility and self reliance is achieved can an individual be equipped to make an informed personal political choice.

In their reckless and desperate attempt to garner more votes from the gullible the jock shinners have let the genie out of the bottle and nobody in the future will have the bottle to revert to common sense.
