I must admit I had no idea the first choice right back at Everton was also the captain. Patterson on the other hand should have known this and picked to go elsewhere. Looks like a bad move for him, and could have repercussions for his International prospects and career.

Coleman at Everton is a plonker he has bucked up a little bit in recent games but he's yesterday's player young Paterson will thrive at Goodison.

Brandon Barker has joined English Championship side Reading.

The former Rangers winger quit Ibrox by mutual consent at the end of last month.

Now Reading - in a relegation scrap in England's second tier - have moved to sign the free agent.

He joins for the remainder of this season.

A statement read: "Reading Football Club can announce that 25-year-old winger Brandon Barker has put pen to paper on a contract which will see him represent the Royals until the end of the 2021-22 season.

"The left-sided midfielder has impressed in training whilst on trial with Veljko Paunovic’s first team squad in recent weeks and the the out-of-contract former Manchester City Academy product has now agreed to a contract with the club."

Reports this morning we have offered a contract to Schalke 04 goalkeeper Martin Fraisl. Apparently already follows our club and manager on social media.

Can't say I know anything about him but @patrick.caskiehas taken a quick look at his stats and they appear good.

McLaughlin will be our number 1 next season anyway (barring any disasters in the interim).
