Chairman of the backbench 1922 committee says he has received threshold of 54 letters needed for vote.

 

Vote expected to take place Monday evening.

Even if they win, PMs that face a vote of confidence don't last long thereafter. 

 

May lasted 6 months after winning quite comfortably.

The face in Number 10 is a lot less significant than the effect on critical policies. I don't care if it's Boris or someone else, so long as they're going to reduce taxation, sort out the situation in Northern Ireland, re-start North Sea exploration and onshore fracking, build nuclear power stations, stop the flow of beggars entering Britain illegally, end the unachievable nonsense of net zero targets, etc etc. I do care that we shouldn't have a PM who continues to take us down the same disasterous road we've been on for 30 years and contemplate Scottish independence and rejoining the EU.
