The political and ideological hijacking of climate change might make a lot of money for some but it has done nothing but damage to any hope of protecting the environment we have to live in. If people want a real cause to get behind, they might start thinking about the massive pollution and exploitation of our oceans because, after over-population, that genuinely is the greatest threat to human society.

I'm not an expert on climate but I have recently studied the history of our planet - paleo geography, paleo climate, palaeontology, etc - and I'm reasonably clear that climate change is neither new nor particularly threatening. Climate has always changed and always will change. Life on Earth continually adapts to continual change .... that might even be seen as a defining characteristic of life.

Incessant and largely unchallenged propaganda has created a significant part of society that is convinced they will imminently die of climate change ... and governments everywhere telling them that climate armageddon can only be averted by more taxation. The Age of Bullshit is well underway.

I would build new coal power stations tomorrow. Only idiots would have dismantled the ones we used to have. It's beyond belief how we've allowed ourselves to be scammed like this.

Anyone ever went to their local ‘recycling centre’ (dump) with a load of cardboard to recycle and been told just to chuck it in general waste because the cardboard bins are full? Don’t think I’ve  ever been able to put cardboard in cardboard recycling in my local dump. Defeats the purpose.

German eco activists going mad about a coal mine.  The BBC wording is interesting...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-64187212

"From her tiny wooden treehouse, which sways precariously in the winter wind, a young woman watches an enormous mechanical digger tear into the earth below, its jaws edging ever closer to the village which she's determined to save.

Lützerath, in western Germany, is on the verge - literally - of being swallowed up by the massive coal mine on its doorstep.

The land around and under Lützerath is rich in lignite - the dirtiest form of coal. The mine, a bleak and dull brown man-made canyon which stretches over 35 square kilometres, yields 25 million tonnes of the stuff every year."

No problems here.
