Anyone following the Test against Ireland on Thursday?.

I follow South Africa in Tests and ODI's because my dad used to live and work there so brought me up a springbok and protea fan, used to drill into me that Jaqcues Kallis is the best there's ever been. Although tbf I record whatever tests and odi's that are on, I can't be bothered with the t20 stuff.

Good time to be an England fan, the players are showing some b****cks which they've lacked for years. I'll say 3-2 England win, storm to a 3-1 series win and lose the last.

Just on the early discussion on the commentary team, Michael Holding will always be my favourite. The kiwi and SA commentators are good too I think, quite understated and an easy listen.

Would be nice to see England test matches broadcast back on the BBC personally I think they did a better job than sky

BBC cannot be trusted not to make it a wokefest.

I spend too long looking forward to an Ashes series to have the entire experience ruined by having to watch it on the BBC.

I agreed with you but on second thoughts if you want to know about steak sandwiches and ice cream and clubbing bbc’s the place, especially if one of the girlies is on. Gives you a nice break from all that boring stuff about field placings, the state of the wicket and so on

That sort of thing was amusing when it was original and spontaneous back in the day. Now it just feels like something to be scripted and performed for an expectant audience. Between Phil Tufnell trying to be cutesy and Alistair Cook trying not to be boring, TMS is a hard listen these days. When Henry Blofeld retired he took the soul of BBC cricket with him.

I'll just reply to this thread like its on running, posted the XI for the Ireland warmup tomorrow below.

Great to see Josh Tounge in who plays locally to where I grew up, comes in for Woakes I should imagine. Robinson and Anderson rested probably.

Should be interesting, Ireland are getting better all the time. Think England need to sort the keeper position eventually though, and consistent openers as well I'd say.

Tell me what you think anyways.
