Beale made an arse of the transfer window and we've paid for that with the season.

A good window can keep a club going for years and a bad one can keep you down for years. That Gio window was worse than beales imo

I'm struggling to see how you can be pessimistic about Clement yet you wanted to stick with Beale.

C o n t r a r i a n. :D

See, that's you putting words in my mouth. There are varying reasons why I can't see Clement turning it around and not all his doing.

Firstly budget. Outwith selling Butland we've probably spent the majority of our summer transfer budget on Diamonde. That means no Cortes or Sima (unless we can get them back on loan).

Secondly, pressure to sell Tav and Dessers, meaning we'll lose 40 goals and around 15 assists from a team struggling to score goals if they leave.

Thirdly, circa 9 players out of contract at the end of the season frees up wages but also leaves us thin on the ground.

The unrealistic expectations from fans that anyone we do sign will automatically be better than those we get rid off.

I'm contrarian? Your the one defending Clement, saying your more confident of him taking us forward but admitt if we start the season badly, you'll want rid of him 😀😀😀😀

That's a lot of assumptions about recruitment rather than being critical of Clement per se.

I'm much more comfortable about the future under Clement than I ever was with Beale, though. That's just me, though

You’re not walking alone on this one.

That's what I said, he can ultimately fail due to things outwith his control.

Still can’t quite get over that performance by Lundstram, lost his man for the opener, an og and a red within 30 odd mins. Not sure sh*t the bed quite covers it.

Quite a swansong.

Posted (edited)

He had to play Sterling in the midfield today instead he went with Lawrence.

Lots of bears knew that Lawrence would be a man short  in midfield yet he was tasked with closing down mcgregor  who was their motm.

Double agent Clement sent to lead us up the garden path ?

Stats XGs go for nothing when we field a bunch of second raters who have no heart and a manager who looks incapable of changing our fortunes I dont think we have a lot of money in the cash tin so the future is looking rather grim
