Possible New Away Top?

Recommended Posts

Ive got a few relatives like that. Everything has to be the best there is and then theres a few that just seem to try the Kepping up with the Jones's.

I get sick of that and if I cant afford to get the kids something then I wont. I do try and get them to realise that money doesnt grow on trees and on the whole they are really pretty good.

IF and when I say no to something there are no tantrums or sulking etc which is really good.

Couldn't agree more Pete. Spending quality time with the family is very important.

But if I have the means then I will buy the little one the tops, only if I have the means though. That doesn't mean that he isnt taught how to truly appreciate what he gets and the value of money.

I come from a poor family so never had anything - I would like my kid to have nothing but the best (as every parent should want) but it will be because he wants to work hard for it, not just because it is handed down to him.

Jon, making your kids work for their pocket money is akin to slave labour ya ignorant foo....... kidding - I think that is a good way to make them appreciate that in order to have things you have to work for them - adds to the appreciation for the money they get, knowing they worked for it (no matter how hard they worked).
