Wenger will be FUMING!!!! and rightly so.

Theo Walcott has been ruled out of England's friendly with Germany in Berlin on Wednesday after dislocating his shoulder in training.

The Arsenal youngster was taken to hospital where the shoulder was put back into place.

"Our priority is Theo and making him as comfortable as possible before he returns to England," England boss Fabio Capello said. "We are all very disappointed but the important thing is for Theo to travel home and make a quick recovery."

A decision will be taken on Wednesday morning over when Walcott will return to England.

Arsenal have been kept fully informed about the 19-year-old's treatment, with Capello naturally disappointed.

While the injury is a blow to Capello, robbing him of one of the few members of his first-choice side to actually make the trip, it is even worse news for Arsene Wenger.

With the Gunners' Premier League title hopes in danger of being over before the end of November, he must now do without Walcott for an extended period due to no fault of his own.

In a week when the club versus country debate has reignited passions, Wenger, one of the fiercest critics of international friendlies, is now deprived of Walcott's services for that very reason.

Last season, Derby midfielder Stephen Pearson was ruled out for a month after suffering the same injury. Even if Walcott equalled that timescale, he would miss four league games and the rest of Arsenal's Champions League group campaign.

"During Tuesday night's training session Theo Walcott dislocated his right shoulder after falling on the pitch," said an FA statement. "Theo was taken to hospital, where he has had the shoulder put back into place."

It will spark off the club v country debate for friendlies - its an absolute joke now that Arsenal have to be without a key play coz of this. The FA should pay them compensation and pay the wages. There should also be a rule that allows teams to buy a player if this happens.

But its a nonsense time to have a friendly when the next meaningful internationals are in April. The Champions League is under way aswell as the Carling cup at the moment.

This should have been a B international.

Jon, how can you say Walcott isnt as much a blow to Arsenal as the likes of Ferdinand to Man Utd. Of course it is - its a 1st teamer being ruled out. It doesnt matter who it is or where he plays, the fact is they are another squad member down due a meaningless friendly.

But injuries can happen anytime, anywhere, so if he did it when training for his club then that's fine? It's just unlucky he was with the international squad when it happened. If he done this while playing in the game you may have a better case but again it can happen in any game as well, it's just unlucky.

I'm sure the players or manager don't see these games as meaningless friendlies or the fans who are paying their money.

Walcott is good and an important player but is no way such a loss of the players I mentioned. Just my opinion and nothing to do with my dislike of Arsenal.

Put it this way, at this moment in time who would you put on your team sheet first, Walcott, Gerrard, Lampard or Ferdinand?

I see what you are saying Jon but you ALSO have to consider more than just the individual himself.

Arsenal have a plethora (what a great word !) of injuries just now so Walcott becomes more important to them.

Let me put it another way. You have Rooney and Berbatov and Tevez and Ronaldo (just assume they are all strikers) and Arsenal have Henry (just assume now....), v. Persie and Walcott. Now, Rooney is a better player than Walcott but if BOTH were injured at the same time you surely could argue that the loss of Walcott is more important because a) Arsenal dont have the same quality b) they don't have the same strength in depth.

I am not explaining myself well - hopefully you see what I am saying though

TBH You lost me early doors. No way you can compare Walcott now, to Rooney now. Even starting at Everton, he was a better player. Ronaldo is the same, cannot be compared to Walcott
