The Louden Tavern: Ibrox Stadium will be open at 11am for this Saturdayâ??s rematch of the original Glasgow derby. We have six 60â? full HD televisions in the bar area and five big screen televisions in the lounge area for an ideal sports event viewing experience. We also continue to have a heated outside drinking area at the rear of the premises. The Louden Tavern: Ibrox Stadium will be open at 3pm for this Wednesdayâ??s league cup home match. Kicking off at 7.15pm we will also be showing the game live on our ten full HD TVs. After months of discussions with Glasgow City Council, we have been granted a temporary licence for an outside drinking area at the rear of the premises. This will be its second outing on the back of a very successful debut. Obviously it will not be the finished article by any means, however it will provide an area for anyone who wants to have a smoke with their drink as well as relieving the congestion in the bar area. We will be improving this beer garden as the weeks and months progress â?? just another step in our pursuit in creating the perfect Rangersâ?? Supporterâ??s Pub. Once again we would like to give a massive thank you for the continuing support that, you the fans have shown towards The Louden Tavern: Ibrox Stadium. For eighteen years we have been involved in the running of The Louden Taverns and last year we got the opportunity to take over the old stadium bar in Copland Road. For better or worse, we made the decision to concentrate solely to grasp this once and a lifetime opportunity and develop these premises into The Louden Tavern: Ibrox Stadium â?? The Quintessential Rangersâ?? Supporters Pub. Since then we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the goodwill shown towards us by our clubs fans. The best way we feel that we can show our gratitude is to make sure we provide the best match day experience that we possibly can. To that end we are always looking to improve. This week has seen our new signage erected around the perimeter of the pub. We have also installed a new door on the back external wall of the bar area and have applied for permission for a beer garden (fingers crossed). Obviously one of the pitfalls of having so many people in the bar are is the high temperature â?? last week we were in discussions with several air conditioning contractors and have agreed a deal that should see it installed this week. The Louden will open tomorrow at 11am and will stay open until 9pm. We hoped to have completed the air conditioning this week but there was a holdup and hopefully will be completed next week. We have however put an emergency exit door at the back which should hopefully alleviate a good amount of the problem. We are continuing to upgrade the pub and have been very pleased with the positive feedback. As you will find out tomorrow our new sign is in place and we have also added some memorabilia to the inside of the pub. We had a conversation with the local licensing police this week. Overall they are delighted with the behaviour of the fans and the way the pub is being run in general. However, at the last game we had about 20 supporters singing the song â??Super Rangersâ??. Unfortunately one of the lines in song mentions the words â??****** b*stardsâ??. This was reported by police outside the premises and under current legislation this song is banned and, if continued to be sung on our premises, we could have our licence revoked. We cannot allow any songs that are deemed to be sectarian to be sung on our premises. We would therefore ask everyone to refrain from putting our licence at risk â?? we play music that brings a great atmosphere to the pub and there is no reason why everyone canâ??t enjoy themselves. Sorry for rambling on but we canâ??t stress how important that it is that this problem is addressed.
