  1. I understand Cameron told certain fans to stick their banners up their arses when they were complaining about Murray. How did that turn out, Andy?

Funnily enough, he said he told them to stick their banners up their jumpers, when he was challenged.

    Lying bastard.

He needs a punch upside the head, to get some reality in his life.

  2. Yes I saw sandy but it was nearthe end of his career but he was a fine player. Maybe woorld class in his prime

    Cammy F

Sandy Jardine was a class act until the very last game he played. Hearts got an absolute gem when he went there.

As a full back, there has not been one who could surpass him in a Rangers jersey, and I've seen the utter class of Caldow and Numan.

    Jardine was a beautiful player.

  3. Gough wasn't world class either.

Having watched some of the best defenders in the world in over 5 decades, I'd say Gough was a supreme athlete who could defend with the best of them.

However, it's all about your opinion, and if you don't agree then fair doos.

In my opinion, Gough would not have looked out of place in any team in the world in his prime, and that makes him world class in my eyes. He was an absolute giant.

  4. Widening the pool to include all Scots, Gordon Smith - not our one, the Hibbee - and Denis Law.

Wee jinky wisnae nor wee Wullie.

Of those who wore the hoops probably only KD (after he'd gone to L'pool) and Larsson. Sorry. Forgot he was Irish.

"Wee jinky", and "wearing the hoops"?

Christ, I thought I was on the wrong board there for a minute.

  5. i think best might be the next best nomination for the group i mention.

    What group is that?

Best was not only world class, he was in the top ten best players ever.

Sorry if I've misunderstood your post.

  6.

Denis Law wouldn't get into the World team ahead of your nominees but he would be available for selection. I know he wasn't a Rangers player but he damn well should have been!

I don't understand what team you think Denis Law wouldn't get into.

    Please clarify.

  7. unless their is a class above world class for the likes of messi ronaldo maradona pele cruyff inesta then there have probably only ever been a handful of world class players ever and none at rangers.

    Except Alan Morton.

  8. There really is no need to call people idiots and their opinions trash.

In this case I disagree with Andy but respect him completely. He is one of the most gifted writers on here.

I will put it down to ignorance on your part since you are new to the forum.

Andy might be respected on here, and if he is fair play.

That doesn't mean he isn't idiotic on some subjects.

In this case, he is wrong, and needs to have a look at himself. That's the end of the story, and his previous contributions have nowt to do with it.

  9. I'm not sure it can be called ultra leftist to have some issues with the army.

I am a bit uneasy with the media worship of the armed forces these last years, because I think what lies behind it is the need to recruit troops rather than any actual feelings of pride.

Anyone else feel sick after reading this tripe?

I really feel disgusted at some of the trash attached to idiots in our support, that come out with nonsense like this.

  10. As I say, Gattuso was just a young, rugged midfielder played out of position at RB with us (shock horror) but he went on to become a standout DMC at AC Milan, winning the world cup, Seria A and Champions League.

In the early 00's era Milan had one of the finest XI's I've ever seen with Pirlo as the deep lying midfielder and Gattuso playing a defensive right sided position covering Cafu's runs. Gattuso at that point was the best defensive midfielder in the world IMO and that easily made him world class.

PS - Incidentally I can still rattle off that classic Milan side with Dida, Maldini, Nesta, Stam, Cafu, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka, Gilardino/Inzaghi, Shevchenko...near enough an XI of world class players. How the mighty have fallen.

Anyone else thinking, "blah blah blah"?

    Who gives a monkey's?

  11. Trevor Steven the first time around at Ibrox was a special player

Trevor Steven was never world class in his life.

Neither was Souness, Durrant, McCoist or Goram.

World class means guys like Morton, Baxter, and Gough.

  12. Numan, gazza, laudrup, cooper, Butcher and RDB.

Others that were close : goalie, woods, Gary Steven, Trevor Steven, gough, gio

Thats based on players i saw

    Cammy F

You obviously never seen Jardine then?

  13. Whether you agree or disagree with them, they have a point of view and have at least pursued an active course of action to push that point of view.

I've sniped at them for the way they've gone about things latterly, but I can't find fault with someone getting off their hin' end to change things that they don't like.

  14. You can be excused simply because you're new here BB (welcome btw!), but please note for future reference that on Gersnet using terms like "tossers" and "t*rriers" to describe fellow fans isn't acceptable.

I appreciate the info Zappa, and will refrain in future.

  15. I scored 100 goals last season also playing pub football, can i sign?

No you can't...particularly as you are trying to compare a pub team player with a professional football player.

16 posts, several warnings and still trolling for fights.

Out of courtesy, can you tell me where I view my warnings? Ta.

Can't see you lasting long here.

Care to tell me why not, apart from the fact you don't like what I say?

I don't know who you are, but you seem to be overstepping your mark as a poster. I'm only giving my opinion.

  16. It's common sense and blatantly obvious though the reality of Nickys situation is probably much more simpler. This is a lad who was released by Aberdeen. We didn't have people watching him every week last season, or scouting him out, it looked like a signing on impulse and recommendation due to the sheer number of goals he scored. It also doesn't help when our squad is so big and the manager has so many options. Not everyone can play.

Imagine signing a striker on the sheer number of goals he scored.

We can't be having that nonsense.
