  1.  Sandaza got a sickening one against Motherwell in the League Cup, a clash of heads and he nearly lost an eye as his socket became detached, worst one I have seen, Durrant also of course, can anyone think of any other horrendous injuries we’ve suffered.

I'd expect the front 3 to be Arfield, Morelos and Kent, and I'd be happy with that.  Whilst Stewart helps open up packed defences, I don't think that will be the case at Parkhead and the extra pressing that Arfield brings will probably see him start before Stewart.

Maybe put him in behind  Morelos and Kent.

I don't think it's out of the question but it's far too early to be talking about that game, we have 17 games between now and then. He might prove himself worthy in that time but I expect Gerrard's preference to be to play Arfield and someone with pace.

    17?  I thought it was 7 .

  4. He’s been great for us as I expected, I think we should play him at the Piggery, he should start every match domestically right now. I feel we get too hooked on setting aside certain players for certain games, it’s maybe been a downfall for us, play your form players, he’s played against them before enough times regardless of the Old Firm being a game apart.

We had a game today. I would say you were a celtc fan but they would know that.

I would say I wasn’t, but if the statistics don’t concern you then fair enough, it’s 9 league matches and 2 cup games. Why is it when someone questions a Rangers player they are accused of being a Celtic fan? Original.

Sometimes players have bogey teams maybe Celtic is Alfie's bogey as long as he keeps scoring against the rest , dont worry someone else will put them to the sword  .

Thanks, first sensible reply, well second actually, another poster said something similar about other folk scoring.

You might spend all day, and all night, thinking about Celtic but we are not scheduled to play them for months.

Morelos is going to be concentrating on winning the next match he plays in.

I don’t, I think about trying to improve our chances of beating them...funny that or do we only think about playing them the day before the match?

Alfredo is now excellent at the build up play and to be honest I don't care I feel he never scores against them, as long as someone else does.

Yes but nobody else is against them and that’s when we need him to.

This is what's occupying your mind right now?

    Your a strange rangers fan......

Not really, if we are to win the league we need to get the better of them, what’s strange about that and what is supposed to be occupying my mind right now?

If you mean Ricksen, that is definitely in my mind.

  10. Just thinking it’s time Alfie was told to be concentrating more on getting on the end of things in Old Firm matches, it seems him being provider, great as he is at it and trying to find the lethal touch doesn’t work against them.

If we played into him more like we do Defoe, I’m sure he can adapt to that , it may reap more rewards against them.

Managers don’t have the influence they once did anyway. Maybe one or two, but mostly it is all about players & how much you spend on them. Look at Juventus, PSG, Chelsea a few years ago.. changing the manager frequently yet keeping the success going. The manager is just a coach now, they don’t even sign the players. It’s not like when the likes of Walter Smith, Alex Ferguson & even Jock Stein used to dictate everything at their club.

No but they can set up different tactics to previous managers and get them playing a different way.

On the wind up...and his name of thread showing its a wind up.

Why is it a wind up? Is it so wrong to give credit where it’s due, even if he is a mongo? There was too much positivity that they had ballsed it up when they got him.

  13. Hi there Unfortunately I think he is going to be good for them, he has shown it already, he is the change they needed at the right time, their defence is a bit suspect at this early stage but we couldn’t test them yesterday, they are more workmanlike and this is effective for them, they  won’t drop the points they did last season, they are more difficult to beat, not that they were easy to beat under Rogers but were starting to show wear and tear, someone on another blog as a consoling thought after the result mentioned he was thankful he was still their manager ... I am not.

FRENCH CONNECTION Rangers flop Eros Grezda on his way to France to complete Brest transfer

RANGERS flop Eros Grezda is on his way to France to complete a £1.75m transfer to French newly promoted club Brest.

The Albanian winger has struggled to adapt since his £2million move from Croatian side Osijek last summer and was frozen out.

Manager Steven Gerrard told the 24-year-old he could leave Ibrox as he wasn't part of his plans.

And ambitious side Brest have beaten rivals Dijon to sign the winger, who has been offered a four-year deal with the side who won promotion to Ligue 1 by finishing runners-up in the second tier of French football last term.

Rangers boss Gerrard said this week: "I think he has found the whole game here and demands here tough. There is still a talent there.

"I have no doubt he can go to a league, a team and a manager that might suit his style and be a success."

Grezda is set to travel to France to undergo his medical with Brest this weekend and become the latest unwanted Rangers star to leave the club, following the departure of fellow winger Daniel Candeias to Turkey earlier this week.

He started just seven league games for Gerrard's side and netted twice - a brace against Motherwell in a 7-1 romp in November.

    + + +

... I wouldn`t say Candeias was an unwanted player, but freedom of the press is of course a wonderful thing.

Either would I re Candeias, because he’s gone they think it justifies them writing rubbish.
