The Blades squad worked out in scorching conditions at Glasgow Rangers' Murray Park training ground - a facility that cost a reported £14m to construct and that is recognised as one of the best in Britain. Weir, of course, is a former player and skipper at Rangers, whilst his Assistant Manager - Performance, Adam Owen, recently left the Scottish giants to join the Blades. "It's always nice to do something a little bit different, just to freshen things up," said Weir. "Sometimes just a change of scenery can do you the power of good. "I thought it would be good for the boys and also make things a little bit different. We've got a good base in Scotland but I spoke to Ally (McCoist) and asked if it was OK for us to come. "Most people in the game accept that Murray Park is one of the best in Britain and so we thought it would be good for the boys to work here today and have a look around. "The boys worked really hard. They have done ever since we came up here and that's been good to see. It's that commitment that we want." The Blades head back south of the border later this week after completing the three-match tour of Scotland with a game at Raith Rovers on Wednesday evening (7.30pm kick-off).
