Rangers keeper Wes Foderingham calls for action to be taken after Hampden disorder

Recommended Posts

RANGERS keeper Wes Foderingham insists 'action must be taken' following the crowd trouble which marred Saturday's Scottish Cup final.

Mark Warburton's side saw their Treble dreams dashed at Hampden as they lost 3-2 against Hibernian and missed out on a Europa League berth.

But the celebrations for Alan Stubbs and his players were tarnished after thousands of Hibs fans stormed onto the park at the final whistle.

Rangers players and staff were assaulted in the melee before rival supporters clashed for several minutes at the National Stadium.

And, writing on his Twitter account on Tuesday morning, Foderingham said: "Still getting over the disappointment of Saturday! A bad end to what has been a great season for the club. We go again in 4 weeks...

"Massive thank you for the outstanding support this season... It has been a pleasure to play in front of such special fans this year.

"As for the disgraceful scenes after the game I for one think action must be taken! No player should have to evade attack on the pitch."
