Surely only a matter of time before Scott ‘Lego muncher’ Brown joins the BBC PQ CSC gang hut.
Mouthing about a GAP between them & us, he might care to reflect the massive assists they got from referees in both OF games this season.

Yes. You are spot on. Didn't hear him mouth too much about Fleetwood Town when comparing the gap between them at the bottom to the rest of that League?

Can you imagine. The PQ CSC will have to order in more Kleenex with a Quadruple winning captain in their midst! Paddy and wee Liam will be creaming themselves.

Might be a controversial opinion but I dont know what they are expecting with that squad. Its bang average and he has them punching above their weight.

You are absolutely spot on. I live on Tyneside, the hype over this side is unbelievable. When they qualified for CL their fans were sure they would go at least to semi's, but probably not make the final until Munich in 2025! FFS!  They punched well above their weight to get a CL place last season and reach a LC final. They were mauled at Anfield last night. Liverpool xG  7.1, highest ever in EPL. Profligacy in front of goal (Nunez in particular) and amazing keeping kept the score down. At FT, cue Whats App meltdown over "2nd penalty (very soft granted) and Klopp's a cheat but little to be said about how they rode their luck for the vast majority of the match. Howe's job's safe. He's done well to haul them from the bottom to safety. It's their fans that are getting carried away by unrealistic expectation.

    Last Words.

I left Hampden and whilst walking to my car I put on my radio and inserted my ear plugs. I heard BBC Scotland's Liam McLeod conclude his thoughts on his match commentary, he said :

"Rangers have defeated Aberdeen in a poor standard cup final".

Says it all, the true voice of the PQ Gang Hut.

Yes indeed. But isn't it nice to picture them quietly stewing in their own bile!

How the hell can they be evenly matched Compo? One wage bill is £60m the other is £5m. One teams average wage is over £15k a week the other is less than £5k. It's a complete mismatch. Ones manager is a Champions League experienced multi trophy winning man of stature and the other is an Under 18s Youth Coach.

Are you not always banging on about our over inflated wage bill.? So on paper £60m beats £5m every time? I see PC is now a CL experienced multi trophy winning man of stature? Last week he was a clueless loser!

Of course it's evenly matched. A tight pitch, good home crowd, a manager desperate to get one over on his old club, another game just 3 days on from last and don't forget, as you are always quick to tell us , ours is a team of bottlers and serial losers! Yes, it's all about opinions!

You are taking the piss with this aren't you?

It was rather tongue in cheek yes!

Do you not see this as Clement wanting a good opponent to work with the team during the winter break?

Mmm not convinced we need a full friendly for this purpose, we play good opponents every 3 or 4 days and struggle like hell due to burn out , injury etc. IMO the same objective can be achieved in a behind closed doors game.

Having a bounce match during the winter break isn't revolutionary like, even less so when you've got a new manager who's still assessing the squad.

I think "bounce match" sums up my personal objection to this. As a few have commented, they'll give it a miss. I don't know how much the club will be charging for this "friendly" but after the excessive charges of earlier Euro matches and at least one another (probable ELC) it seems a lot. I do get the "no one's forcing anyone to pay" line as well

If I've bitten then fair play, if not and you're sincere than that's just baffling.

Don't get to baffled buddy. It was a rather glib cynical post highlighting the fact that we play so many games in a short period. Many fans berate the heavy game schedules, the constant injury spate, club or country playing dilemma etc etc

  6. So. Let me get this right. After a possible season defining 12 games in 37 days which ends at home to Kilmarnock on 2/1/24, we are playing a meaningless friendly 2 weeks later? Why? Had a quick brainstorm with the cat and we came up with these possibilities:-

    • To fleece more money out of the fans after CL & EL games?
    • To ensure players are "match fit" for the 2nd half of the season? (or all injured for the rest of it!)
    • To put "available for sale" players in the shop window?
    • Copenhagen plays a similar style of football to Dumbarton to be tip top shape for Scottish cup match?
    • Kemar Roofe comeback appearance guaranteed? (or your entrance fee refunded)
    • Big Phil's opportunity to showcase our winter transfer newbies from Saudi Pro League (eg Ronaldo, Jota, & Henderson (as new captain resplendent with LGBT armband)

Can somebody seriously outline the benefits of this other than another "competitive" (really?) game?
