  1. Based on the info posted on this forum, I calculate that the Good Guys have about 49.64%. However I have a figure of 26.84 of unknown allegiance to date.

Should Prior and River Mercantile be backing DK as rumoured, this would add 7.12% to the Good Guys cause.

I suspect this will be clearer within the next 9 days or so as more 8.3's are announced.

  2. I'm not convinced that we can count on the accuracy of the 12% shareholding attributed simply to 'fans' in that chart above because it's probably just the old figure from immediately after the IPO, but since then some of those fan shareholders will have had their holdings diluted following the recent share issue.

Also need to consider that not all shareholders may vote in the event of an EGM. Cant recall what % of the total shareholders who did not vote at the recent AGM but i thought it was high, was it not.

  3. here's a question, since we don't want the current board members and we're trying to force them out by starving them of money, why are we (the very same ones who want to starve the club of money) up in arms over utd refusing to pay?

    mmmmm

I think its because we hold such affection for Stephen Thomson.....

  4. Read this in the DR article today with AJ...

Chief executive Neil Doncaster and secretary Iain Blair were unaware of the situation despite having an early warning system in place with HMRC which notifies them of any potential tax disputes involving any member club.

But after learning of the claims, Doncaster and Blair – who docked Livingston five points for breaking the same rules earlier this season – moved swiftly to discover if Rangers were next in line for a punishment.

Doncaster later confirmed to Record Sport: “On the basis of the information we have received we are satisfied there has been no breach of rule E20.”

I am going to assume this is a fairly new arrangement and was not in place in the days of SPL and SFL.....

Interesting article here. I am on my phone and cutting and pasting is not easy... Apologies

Before reading this article, I had heard very similar rumours about the AGM being a watershed moment for McCoist. I have been warned by a source that Dennis Wise may be waiting in the wings to take over.

Not 100% related to this article but I was also told to prepare for a potential 2nd Admin, to try and clear out the 'cancer' in the club to try and rebuild.

Tis the season to be jolly indeed...

  6. Putting money IN (to youth development) potentially allows him to take even more OUT - it is called speculating to accumulate.

I'm not saying he would, just giving plausibility to what True_Ger said

Essentially yes, that was what I was trying to imply. I cannot see him being a sugar daddy and ploughing millions into the club - but with the retail contracts he has in place, what may be the best option for him to try and keep Rangers on a good footing in terms of player development and focus on youth - it may keep the fans at bay and not be screaming out for him to invest millions in player fees and wages if we are producing a good quality on the park through our development set-up.

Speculate to accumulate as craig put it.

Its the only way I foresee Ashley remaining with Rangers without having as big a fan backlash as we have seen in recent months.

  7. My ideal choice would be for Rangers to move towards a DoF & Coach Team like Hearts. I think potentially a Team of Mark Wotte and Arthur Numan would be ideal. One has spent a lot of time recently looking at the entire Scotland set-up, and the other comes from a nation that focuses on youth a regularly produces good footballers, and has spent a good few years with Holland B team.

I actually think that this set-up would also suit our much maligned Ashley involvement as I cannot see him forking over cash to buy players, but might be more amenable to putting in funds to support developments on the youth set up which will deliver on-pitch success and players with sell-on values. Providing he is still getting a club that will allow him to advertise his Sports Direct Empire.....

    Just my opinion of course.

  8. I read that Ally was taken into a meeting with Lambias and he basically told McCoist the players they would like to try and move on in the Jan window, and also the list of players out of contract at the end of the season which they would not offer a renewed contract to. Apparently this was what prompted his letter of resignation. No idea of who was on this list, if this was the true story of what happened.

If this is the case, then perhaps he feels with the boards lists of demands - that he couldn't take Rangers further and so handed in his notice.

  9. Question about the McCoist contract - I keep reading that we cant afford to get rid of him which I can understand, however does anyone know if there is any performance related clauses which state he has to get Rangers to the top flight? So if the unthinkable happened and we never got promotion, would we still have to pay severance for him and his coaches based on the fact he never won us promotion from the Championship?

  10. I don't see an issue with the statement. It was terrible behaviour from this group and should be made public. Do we think that if there was something of a similar ilk about Celtic scrawled across seats by Rangers - do we think this would not be reported as an issue?? I seriously doubt it!

Whats more concerning is the fact that Celtic have came out and tried to deflect this away from them, as well as some of the Celtic fans on social media. The lack of action from Celtic only fuels the desire for these folk to continue with such despicable acts.

  11. In August & September of 2012 Chuck Green made a big point of repeatedly harping on about having to pay oldco football debts.

The SFA & SPL were adamant that we shouldn't be allowed to avoid paying them, so it needs to be a 2-way street.

Totally agree with this. Despite this arrangement being part of the 5 way agreement - all oldco football debts were paid. What DU may say is the Jelavic cash still to come in will be going to oldco.

I can see a possible split of funds from DU in that they will pay the full amount, but we will only get the proportion that Du have offered, with the remainder going to the oldco creditors pot.
