The performance was probably our worst of the season. So many misplaced passes, a lack of movement from our middle 3, our two wingers didn't get into the game at all.
I would put a lot of the above down to our opponents work rate and tactics, where they gave up half the pitch and chased down everything in their own half in packs. If one of our players got past a man, they were either fouled or crowded out. They delayed the restart at all times and retained possession better than anyone we have played to date. Frankly if they played this well every week they would be challenging for second but I will be betting on them getting a heavy defeat next week, no matter their opponent, as it is very evident this was cup final football from them today.
It is credit to Livvy for their negative but effective tactics and we need to sharpen up when faced with these tactics, as we will probably see a lot of it this season and beyond.
spot on with that summation TB.

Really looking forward to this today, but I hope the weather improves a bit. If not, then I hope it doesn't affect the way we play!
a slick pitch will let us play at a higher tempo. I expect us to thrash Livi today. Just leaving for the game with my son via Partick for a few beers.

I would be delighted if the old Co could be taken out of liquidation and merged with the new Co.
it would leave Ashley with contracts with a company with no football team.

Growing up In Whiteinch in Glasgow, Rangers were my local team but this was not the reason for supporting them. It was and still is a generational thing passed on from grandfather to father to son no matter where you now live.

Myself and the Mrs are just back from the Founders Trail today. What a fantastic tour it is and would highly recommend anyone that has not yet done it, to book up.
The amount of work and research that these guys have put in is phenomenal.

Dundee is so obvious they can't see it.
I am not so sure about Ayr, which is 15 miles from Kilmarnock and is actually slightly the larger of the two by population. I think Ayr should be able to support a small community club.
Glasgow should never have wasted all that lottery money on Hampden and what a mess they made of it; but I think Thistle can justify their own stadium.
Edinburgh is interesting; in theory you are right and the Milan example shows it can be done despite bitter rivalry; but I think it would need a new stadium, the history of the two existing is too strong. The Council should take the lead.
I doubt Hibs would move out of Easter Road after spending so much on the new stand.

You're right, it's great value mate. I must say though, that I feel a wee bit sorry for lads that are say 17 and still at school where their families aren't flush with cash to give them money to pay for adult football tickets.
Get a paper round:lol:

Cathcart
RS McColl !
any relation to the shop chain ?
Yes, it;s that RS McColl.
The signing fee he got at Newcastle established the business I believe.

THE new league season kicks-off this evening against St Mirren, and Rangers fans have responded in tremendous fashion by purchasing every available ticket for the match.
It's an outstanding show of faith from the support in new manager Mark Warburton and the brand of football he is creating here at the club.
Already, his new-look side have demolished Hibernian 6-2 at Easter Road in the Petrofac Cup and cruised past Peterhead 3-0 in the League Cup, playing some delightful and entertaining stuff in the process.
Tonight though will see the biggest crowd of the Scottish football season so far roll up at Ibrox - topping that of anything seen on the opening weekend of the Premiership last week.
Indeed, the crowd looks set to be in the top five highest attendances anywhere in the UK this weekend.
If you're not coming to Ibrox and live outside the UK and Republic of Ireland, you can watch all the action on RangersTV.tv in the company of Tom Miller and Peter Lovenkrands.
If you are coming, be sure to pick up a copy of the official match programme which is packed with fabulous features and interviews.
Fans are reminded that there's a minute of silence tonight in memory of Sammy Cox - so please take your seat early so you don't miss it.
There are no tickets remaining so please don't head to the Ticket Centre to try to purchase tickets. If you have tickets to pick up then head to the ground two hours in advance as we expect there to be queues.

It was pretty embarrassing and his distribution from goal kicks was pathetic
