  1. I think the general role of the Lionbrand is a good idea and i've no doubt he's put some cash into the club.

However he needs to be more careful of his "competitions" because last season the same person (who looked like his pal) won not only the season ticket but also the ticket for the old firm semi final. Hmmmm

As said I've no doubt he does a good job but just let the competitions be fair if it's for publicity reasons.

  2. Would some be happier if we had paid 5M for the 8 players that have arrived ?

    Missing the point completely.

A better question would be, would you be happy to miss out on a Bradshaw (example) as the final piece of the jigsaw because we could not afford the £900k asking price?

I have reservations whether we have that in reserve should it be required. It's not a dig at the board as I'm fully on board with what they have done and are currently doing, as said in the OP it's a debating issue.

I'd like to think the manager has a wedge if he really wants it.

  3. I think this is worth a debate given King's previous mentions of "front loading" etc if required. It also may be the case where MW has made the decision that front loading isn't required we don't know so only throwing this out there to see what the general opinion is.

    In:

    Kranjcar

    Barton

    Gilks

    Rossiter (£250k)

    Hill

    Hodson (£100k?)

    Windass & Crooks (£120k)

    Out:

    Templeton

    Bell

    Clark

    Shiels

    Gasparotto

    Mills

    King (Loan)

    Ball (Loan)

    Zelalaem (Loan)

Give or take our transfer spend has been around half a million. With Barton/Kranjcar we can safely say the wages will be more than what has left the club however does anyone feel we should be spending more to get players in given we are about to break the ST sales record aswell?

IMO I feel we should be in a position to spend upwards of £1M on that one player to complete the jigsaw, a potent striker.

  4. From the Daily Mail (via FF)

No wonder here, as Mariappa has some 60 days of the window remaining and sure a few offers to consider. That said, as a freebie he's even more time.

That ITK Agent on twitter (no idea if a decent source) has said he is about to do a U-turn and re-sign for Palace.

  5. Got a text from a mate telling me we are signing a right back from Kilmarnock purely for cover, a Northern Irish boy. No idea who that is.

His info comes via a well known agent.

Edit: only one I can find is Lee Hodson who was on loan to Killie I believe.

I'll bank this source as decent then ..............

  6. No does that make a difference? He is still 34 and not played for years.

Ally and Kenny or MW and SDOW to judge a player ........... "does that make a difference" ........ eh absolutely. I know who I'd trust given their past on judging and signing players.

Regardless of how agents work I think you are completely disrespecting the knowledge and level of work that our new management have put in place when it comes to actually offering anyone a contract.

  7. Ally McCoist is another whom I never had any problems with collecting what he was contractually entitled to. All McCoist gave up a high profile media career to come to Rangers at a traumatic time. Appearing on question of sport made him a well known face throughout the British isles which in itself is a lucrative commodity while managing Rangers gave him nothing like as high a profile.

It's disappointing that some appear to want to make it difficult or uncomfortable for a club legend to come back and spend some time at Ibrox. Keep in mind this was his job not a hobby. Who among us would accept anything less than we are due from any employer no matter how long we may have worked for them especially if we had given up highly profitable employment to be there.

It was also disappointing that Ally wouldn't sit down with the new board and try to come to come sort of arrangement. His free wages ran long enough.

He chose money over honour IMO.
