  1. We will be open from 4pm for tomorrow’s title decider against Airdrieonians.

We invite any Rangers Supporter who can make it to the vicinity of the home of fantasy football to join us in celebrating the continuing unbroken history of the most successful team in the game.

Renowned for our quick service and great pints, our staff will ensure you never have to wait long to get a drink. We also provide free rolls, free pies, an atmosphere second to none and for clarification – we don’t and never have had a cover charge. We also never do tickets for a Rangers game, all supporters are welcome.

Situated across from Ibrox Subway Station, there is easy access to and from all city destinations. Although not completely finished, the outside drinking and smoking area will be available to enjoy our wonderful winter climate… We also have a bottle bar there that will get those in the beer garden served in no time.

In addition to the premier pre-match atmosphere we will be showing live football games on our six 60” full HD televisions in the bar area and five big screen televisions in the lounge area for an ideal sports event viewing experience.

Come in for The Premier Rangers Supporters’ Matchday Experience in The Quintessential Rangers Supporters Pub.

  2. Does anybody know if someone is actively targeting the supporters clubs further afield with these schemes? For example the North American ones and Dubai etc I would have thought most of these guys would sign up since they can't really have season tickets I would have thought.

Yes that is certainly in the pipelines. We have a lad going out to Hong Kong who is going to do a presentation out there as well.

I have personally spoken to a New York based RSC who have signed up to Club 1872

  3. I think fan "ownership" in this context is a misnomer; fan influence is a more realistic and achievable objective.

One of the examples that is often quoted of the fan ownership model is Germany; but as is set out here http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/bundesliga/id/432?cc=5739, only 6 clubs are still run under the old model and one of those, Hamburg, is 100 million euros in debt and set to change as a result.

I agree that fan ownership is often more narrowly understood than is generally meant

For instance, for many FO is 100% ownership of the club - That isn't the case in which it is broadly used amongst the fan ownership vehicles at the moment. Rangers First is seeking to obtain 5% to start with and will then continue to increase its shareholding until 'transparent authoritative consultation' with RFC is achieved.

It is a concept worth looking into imo

  4. Just a curious question. Has these 650 people already payed money or is it a bit like the scheme when we were in trouble, plenty of people wanting to pay when no money was asked?

They will have paid - My money came out yesterday (Monday)

  5. I feel we should all remember that we have the same goals for our club and are united with in this interest - it doesn't matter whether you are getting involved through Rangers First, BuyRangers, VB's share scheme or any other vehicle - get involved. Choose whichever one suits you and what you think is right for the club and yourself.

Now I am delighted that Rangers First has had, what I would consider, a successful start - but that is all it is. We need to get out there and convince our fellow fans to get involved. We need 20 to 40 to 100 times the number involved at the moment in FO with Rangers. The time is now

  6. I was at the first "town hall" regional meeting tonight in a a packed bar in Wishaw. At the end of the night the 2/3 buses represented all intended taking out Life Memberships and all 50 or so people in the room enthusiastically supported the concept.

If this can be repeated throughout the country not to mention abroad I am convinced that this scheme will quickly break through all its targets.

I am sure it will have at least 1,000 members by the weekend and double that or more by the end of this month.

Very soon there will be a short form that you can print off the web site to hand out to those around you in the stadium.

If everyone sends a text to all their friends who are Rangers fans in their contacts it will spread like wildfire.

There was actually 8 buses represented there out of the 10 invited - Cooper's Owner Davie confirmed this

I was pleased with the turn out - 3 confirmed they were taking out life memberships for their buses' and the other 5 are taking it to their members.

There was unanimous support in the room - we tried prompt them for criticism but they were happy. Thoroughly encouraging

  7. I don't know why but I had a much larger figure in mind when thinking about how many would sign up to donate.....

    Isn't 650 a bit...pish?

I don't think so - basically been launched on twitter.

I'm very pleased. Its more members than BuyRangers have I believe (for instance) - Not to have a go at them I am just saying in 5 days that is a big accomplishment

  8. I liked them both, mate.

I used your post to be a bit naughty, but my point was valid. I don't want lectures from players on subjects they don't really know enough about.

I hope the night goes well. There is a market for this sort of thing.

I realised that - but I will try and promote RF as I believe it is something that could benefit our club long term - not ashamed to admit it :)

I think the general populous would probably prefer Mols speaking about Rangers First than me tbh - Thats the perks of celebrity. But Michael is a cracking guy - genuinely loves the club

  9. Only if they genuinely believe in something enough to honestly recommend it to others.

I wouldn't be impressed by a former player telling me that I should sign up for something that he needed to be pestered into joining.

I think we should think for ourselves a bit more.

To be fair I have met Michael Mols before and he is genuine in his affection for the club and was frustrated with what is going on - I don't think it would take much persuasion.

Never met Huistra - seems like a good Rangers man. Won 5 leagues with us

  10. Ach!, I don't know really BD, I just think with all that is going on just now money could be better spent elsewhere?, I also would like to see former players getting involved with trying to get behind the fans more,ie: Dave Kings' idea!. I'm maybe wrong but I just think I would rather spend my money on other things right now, however under normal circumstances I would gladly pay to go to this!.

I probably should not have posted that, just a bit of me thinking aloud and not engaging my brain first..............

Well I'm going to pester the lads to buy into Rangers First on the night if that makes you feel any better.

  11. We are delighted to announce that we have managed to secure two of the most well liked Dutchmen to have played for the light blues

Tickets £20 and include a bite to eat and are available at http://www.thelouden.co.uk/events.html

Doors will open at 7pm for the event with the Q&A scheduled to begin at 8pm.

We are really looking forward to the event and hope to see a good number of our fantastic support there!

Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis and all ticket sales are final and will be collected on the door on the night.

  12. RF & BR are brilliant for oversees fans, but if the Club launch an official membership scheme it's bound to slow down the uptake for the independent schemes.

BR isn't to be fair - I think you need a UK bank account to get involved with that - could be wrong though. I'm sure someone here can clear that up.

I understand where you are coming from re: Official - I think we need to get the word out that they are to achieve different goals

  13. To be honest given its only been on twitter and very few forums have dedicated threads on it , then I would say well done to all concerned

Again just a guess but I think people will start getting behind it - seem people in Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, New York and Philadelphia buy in so far - I think thats brilliant

  14. I think that would be ideal , one of the biggest bug bears of gersave was you couldnt get any info from them regards take up , buyrangers may be the same , what people need to realise is that fans want to be associated with successful things , they hate being associated with flops

I think we will have about 300 signed up just now - Just a guess though

  15. The first target is a 5% shareholding; so more or less £1,000,000; but a smaller figure might still be regarded as a success (say 3% for a notifiable interest); even 1% would be a great start IMO.

I have asked for an update to be published asap and regulalry thereafter covering:

    1. Numbers signed up to web site
    2. Numbers signed up to pay monthly
    3. Total amount of monthly contributions
    4. Number of Life Memberships taken out for cash
    5. Number of shares pledged for LM or directly.

Think the lads are still setting up all the database tech wizardy stuff but I agree with this all being out in the open.

    Have you joined yet?

  16. I think they need to have a bank account first, unless that has been done since Monday but who would the signatories be?

Yeah there isn't a bank account yet - Signatories I would guess would be the Solicitor and we'd need to have some others too for security. Richard? I don't really know bank accounts tbh I'm the sole signatory on my own haha

  17. No idea what kind of numbers they'd think successful but I'd imagine getting to a notifiable interest of shares would be the initial plan.

I think 'official' figureheads always help any financial risk scheme. That's why celebrities almost always do adverts. People identify with and want to share their life with them.

But, I agree, good PR could over-ride that as well. That won't come cheap though.

I think with a soft launch like it has been I'd be happy with about 200-300. I'd be delighted at 500. I think over the weekend we need to get the word out and talk to fans - but we are at the start of the process. Long way to go!

  18. Yes, I realise that thanks but my point was that it is not vain to want to buy shares now; and it is not an either/or (buy now or later) if you want to own shares in your own right; you can do both.

Sorry, but I do see it as vanity - If you are like the vast majority of the Rangers Support you are not seeking to make a return on your investment. The shares being on the open market there is no money going into the club and there is little power in shares held individually. Therefore, the only reason to own shares is to say you own shares. Just get one share and put the rest into a collective scheme IMO

Thats the way I see it and that is why I am donating my shares (all but two) to Rangers First as the shares are better together IMO

  19. I was a shareholder in oldco for as long as I can remember. It was difficult not to buy ipo shares, even after realising early on what Greenco were about.

I look forward to once again being a shareholder in our club when DK facilitates change.

And this thread, if nothing else, has shown it is much better to be a fan owning shares than subscribing to RF or BR. Pathetic stuff.

I disagree entirely - there is no point in buying shares personally other than vanity at this stage - If there is a new public share offering then that would be of course a different scenario.

The power in shares only lies in being as a collective IMO
