RANGERS fans travelling to Pittodrie Stadium for this weekend's game with Aberdeen are advised to plan their journey well in advance.

 

A new shopping centre has recently opened in the city and is causing major congestion around the Market Street and Guild Street areas.

 

Increased traffic volumes have led to gridlock and supporters are recommended to take alternative routes where possible.

 

The police have asked that all fans should aim to be inside the stadium at least 30 minutes before the game to ensure they are there in time for kick off.

 

An early start is advised for people travelling from the Glasgow area as there are major roadworks around Cumbernauld with a 40mph speed limit and averaging cameras.

 

Saturday is expected to be the busiest shopping day of the year in Aberdeen.

 

Fans who normally fequent the Saltourn Arms should not that it is currently closed.

 

Large flags or banners are not permitted in the stadium.

 

It is against the law to carry alcohol on a bus while en route to or from a sporting event.

 

Grampian Police regularly use cameras for evidence-gathering purposes. The Police will be addressing all manner of football-related activity with particular reference to any persons behaving in a sectarian or racist manner.
