ITV to beam both legs of Hearts' clash with Spurs

Recommended Posts

BOTH legs of Hearts' eagerly anticipated Europa League clash against Tottenham this month are to be broadcast live by ITV.

Next Thursday's first leg at Tynecastle is already a sell-out, but fans will be able to watch all the action unfold on ITV4. Hearts' second leg clash with their English Premier League counterparts at White Hart Lane on 25 August will also be screened on the Freeview, satellite and cable channel.

Hearts supporters face a ticket scramble for the second leg at Tottenham after the Gorgie club was given an allocation of just 1,817 for the White Hart Lane clash.

Briefs go on sale on Saturday from 4:45pm and will be sold on the basis of loyalty points. Supporters with 106 or more points initially qualify to buy a ticket although they will be limited to one per fan.

Tickets are priced at £31 for adults, £16 for Under-16s and £18 for over-65s. Five pairs of wheelchair briefs are also available at £31. Fans can purchase the tickets from the Tynecastle Ticket Centre, online or via hotline before the sales end at 5pm on Tuesday.

Hearts fans snapped up all the tickets for next Thursday's home leg within hours of going on sale on Saturday morning. Spurs have received a 1,200 allocation for the trip to Edinburgh.

The vast financial gulf between the sides ensures Tottenham go into the tie as firm favourites to reach the group stages of the competition. But Spurs face a tricky start to their domestic season with Harry Redknapp's side also having to negotiate fixtures against Everton, reigning champions Manchester United and Manchester City this month.

New Hearts manager Paulo Sergio insists his team are not in the tie just to make up the numbers. Speaking recently, he said: "It's going to be great and we don't have to fear. We have to show courage."
