Yet, shall we ignore somesuch (i.e. mocking a statue and thus our symbol of moruning for 66 dead people) when people with equally silly - or funny - remarks losts their jobs due to outside pressure? Wouldn't that be a nice breeding ground for that "we're untouchable" feeling?

I don't know, mate. I think there are too many fans with different opinions on subject A, B or C to ever have a united front on anything. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a reflection on the size of our fanbase.

Journos are all bits of shite and this one is no diffirent. It doesn't matter if he's apologised, it's out there and he's just added further pain to the families that had relatives there that day by highlighting this sick joke, whoever made it.

Surely a case for a police investigation.

Alex Thomson case dropped

An odd footnote to the Rangers saga was resolved on Tuesday. Strathclyde Police confirmed that their investigation into an alleged threat made by an unnamed Scottish journalist against Alex Thomson, Chief Correspondent of Channel 4 News, has closed after no evidence was found.

A Strathclyde Police spokesperson told The Daily Telegraph: “An investigation was carried out but we were unable to establish any evidence of criminality.”
