RANGERS have made a payment of 820,000 euros to Austrian side Rapid Vienna over the transfer of Nikica Jelavic.

Rangers made the payment yesterday, the Austrian club confirmed. The debt was owed by the oldco Rangers, who collapsed in the summer and transferred their football debts to Charles Greenâ??s newco.

The matter between the newco and Rapid is now considered closed, although in a statement on their website the Vienna club say they will pursue the 1.18million euros the oldco owes.

The money was due as the final payment for the Croatian international, who signed in 2010 and currently plays for Everton.

Rapid president Rudolf Edlinger told the club website that he was pleased with the outcome, and that discussions with Green were constructive. He added that, between this payment and the likely amount they will receive in the oldcoâ??s liquidation, the club expect to receive the full amount due.

Reports suggest that GAIS, Palermo and Orebro have each received negotiated amounts from Charles Greenâ??s newco over the transfers of Mervan Celik, Dorin Goian and Alejandro Bedoya respectively.
