I brings a lot of things into perspective. Thoughts are with the mans family. Play was stopped 10 minutes into the Scottish Championship clash between Morton and Queen of the South at Cappielow Park, Greenock. First aiders battled to save the life of the man, named locally as Andrew Kemp, as paramedics rushed to the scene. Referee Don Robertson abandoned the game at 3.22pm after discussions with police. Morton manager Kenny Shiels – who was boss at Kilmarnock when three fans died at separate matches – said: “He’s a long-term supporter and never missed a match. “This is the fourth time I have experienced something like this. It really puts football into perspective.” Morton stadium director Crawford Rae said: “The emergency services, our own doctor and the Queen of the South doctor went over and the defibrillator was out immediately. “Both sets of supporters were magnificent, in their applause of the decision to cancel the match.” One fan said: “The paramedics eventually took the fan away on the stretcher from the terracing.
