Lawyers representing the Ibrox outfit claimed in a London courtroom last week that Mike Ashley's retail firm had had the loan taken out by the club's former regime repaid.

But the claim was denied 24 hours later by Ashley's QC - raising further doubts about Rangers' financial state. However, Murray said the money raised by himself, chairman Dave King and investors Douglas Park, George Letham, George Taylor and John Bennett is now ready to be handed over.

Murray told STV: "First of all to clear up what happened in court last week, that was just a simple mistake which was made by our QC. He didn't have the facts to his fingertips.

"The facts are quite simple, we have £5m on deposit with a solicitors at the moment. The loan will be repaid as soon as the legal documentation is in place."

Shouldn't have given them a penny...but embarrassed themselves, and the club coming up short like that.

We can do without 'bullets off mirrors' in our situation.
