Important Travel Information

Recommended Posts

FANS travelling to and from Ibrox during the Glasgow Subway suspension will be able to catch specific buses from the City Centre direct to the stadium.

These will run in addition to the normal Subway Replacement bus service and fans can use either of the buses to reach Ibrox.

In addition to the normal Subway replacement bus service, extra ‘football special’ buses will run, commencing 90-minutes before each match, and for 90-minutes after each match. These will run non-stop along Paisley Rd West from Buchanan Street and St Enoch to Ibrox (and vice versa after the match), on a 10-minute frequency. These will be numbered 92X (to Ibrox) and 91X (to city).

There will also be an additional shuttle between Partick and Govan on these days, again running 90-minutes before and after the match, numbered 91P (Partick to Govan pre-match), and 92P (Govan to Partick post-match). These services will run every 15-minutes. These services are in addition to the regular replacement bus services, running during the suspension.

Football fans will be able to use either service to get to and from the match. In the city centre, for the journey to Ibrox, the stop for Buchanan St is at St Vincent St (outer circle stop, between West Nile St & Renfield St), and the stop for St Enoch is at Jamaica St outside Kenny’s Music shop. At Partick, the stop for the journey to Ibrox is on Dumbarton Rd westbound beneath the railway bridge. Fares are £1 single, exact money only.

In addition, to the Subway bus service, fans can also use normal bus services along Paisley Rd West (First 9 & 9A, 10, McGills 38), or Govan Rd (Stagecoach X19, McGills 23, McGills 26), all of which are very frequent and pass close to Ibrox stadium.

In the city centre, these buses are grouped together on bus stops on Renfield St, Union St and Jamaica St. For alighting at Ibrox, the nearest stop for Paisley Road West services is close to its junction with Edmiston Drive. For Govan Road services, the nearest alighting stop for Ibrox is at Govan Town Hall, a short distance beyond the BBC/Science centre.
