The Gallant Pioneers was released to critical acclaim in 2009, revealing the inspiring yet heart breaking stories behind the four teenagers who formed Rangers in 1872.

Journalist Gary Ralston used fresh research and hitherto unseen documents to sympathetically recount the stories of 15-year-olds William McBeath and Peter Campbell, 16-year-old Moses McNeil and his brother Peter, 17. They were soon joined by Tom Vallance, another 16-year-old, who quickly became skipper of the fledgling club.

New information, photographs and stories about the major players have emerged since the first publication to paint an even fuller picture of the boys who formed one of the world's great football clubs. The thirst for knowledge of the the Gallant Pioneers in recent years has also inspired the Founders Trail, which has taken thousands of Rangers fans around Glasgow and the Gareloch to see the homes, public halls and playing pitches from which the club developed in Victorian Britain.

A percentage of all book sales will go towards the Founders Trail to help continue the research into the early years' history of the Rangers.
