  1. Watched Tottenham - Barcelona yesterday, arrived in Glasgow this morning. Mood is great ? biggest problem for some of us is that smoking is not allowed and that you guys are strict with drunk fans. Anyway, looking forward for tonight. Since we got our new manager the mood is a lot better although we know within a few days he can't do a lot. So a draw would be fine for us as I think you guys are still favs in this match. Hope for a good match and that we are not too loud for you guys ?
  2. We lost on sunday against Red Bull away (as expected) and went to the next stage of our cup after penalties yesterday - again a piss poor performance. Coach might be sacked soon and if we wont win this saturday against St. Pölten the fans wont stay that calm anymore I guess. Still think our squad will show a different face next week against you guys. At least they did in most of the other EL matches so far. By the way we got 1.600 tickets in the end.
  3. @Crimson Dynamo I couldn't find a 24/7 bus service between vienna and bratislava. Between midnight and 5-6 am there isn't going on anything. slovaklines.sk is the official bratislava airport bus service to vienna (and back). flixbus also has a lot of busses between the two cities (not all to the airport). train would be another option but it's more expensive and there's no train going to bratisava airport so you would need a bus there or taxi. Just got my confirmation for the match ticket in Glasgow. Looking massively forward
  4. Sorry to tell you but Rapid is green. Away shirt normally is red/blue but against you guys I guess we (have to) wear our traditional green/white
  5. If you like football grounds you might wanna visit "Hohe Warte" in Vienna. It's nothing special though these days as it's more a football field (for Vienna FC, oldest viennese football club) than a stadium. But in the 1920s it was the biggest natural stadium in europe with about 80k capacity. I'm not sure about the 24/7 service between Bratislava and Vienna but I'll check that. We suck this season (9 points after 7 games against the "easier" teams), our coach simply isn't good. Also our ultras want the coach gone since a month which might bring some problems for the match against Spartak on Thursday, especially after we lost the derby yesterday as there were some fans on the pitch after, wanting to have a little dance with the Austria Vienna fans. But no cop nearly died as I read on some sites, literally nothing happened aside from a few punches with the security. No idea how we should win any of the next matches including the one against you guys.
  6. Bit more Info on Vienna: Flights: As I said before you should also check flights Edinburgh - Bratislava (Ryanair) and Edinburgh - Vienna (Jet2). That's what most of us use for the match in Glasgow. Depending on how long you stay or when you arrive Bratislava is also nice for a day or night (cheap beer, nice girls, small but nice city centre). Then either by bus from the airport in Bratislava to vienna or by train which costs a bit more. From vienna airport to vienna either you take the fast but expensive train called CAT (City Airport Train) 11€ one way or a normal train to vienna main train station 4.20€ one way. Hotels: Honestly, check it for yourself. Vienna has all from cheap hostels to 5 star hotels. It's christmas time then so I would recommend looking for it soon though. Eat and Drink: Same as for the hotels, Kebap or sausages on the street for 3€ up to 5* restaurants where you can spend as much money as you please City centre is most expensive though. If you need some recommendations for good but lower budget restaurants just let me know. Pubs and bars are ok in the city centre. Bermuda Dreieck (bermuda triangle) near Schwedenplatz is the main bar/pub area in vienna but you find places all over the city. As it's december there will be tons of christmas markets. I would recommend to avoid the main one in front of the town hall (it's good for a photo but way too overcrowded). There is a nice one at Schloß Schönbrunn which is one of the big sights in vienna anyway. But also lots of smaller ones all over the city. Average prices: 4-5€ for 0.5 beer in a pub, 5-6€ pack of cigarettes (smoking is still allowed in some places), subway, bus, tram tickets: 24h 8€, 48h 14.10€, 72h 17.10€ Must sees: Depending on what you're interested in, the city centre obviously with the main cathedral (Stephansdom) and Kärntnertraße (expensive shopping street), Schönbrunn Palace as mentioned before with it's huge park (nicer in summer though), Belvedere Palace, the parliament, lots of churches, parks and museums all over the city, the opera, the danube river,... This I guess everyone needs to plan on their own. If you're interested in football grounds: Ernst Happel Stadion is the biggest stadium in Austria (cap ~50k) but it's a shithole in my opinion. Our stadium is the second biggest in Vienna (national ~ 27k, international ~24k). It's called Allianz Stadion but fans call it Weststadion as we don't like our stadium to be named after an insurance company that much... It's a new stadium though and was opened in 2016. 3rd biggest ist from our city rivals Austria Wien (who we play tomorrow at home) which is also new and got opened this season. It's also named after an insurance company Generali Arena (cap ~15-17k). We have a few older grounds but I'm afraid there won't be any matches in december anymore. There would be a lot more to say but I guess that's enough for now. If you have any questions just let me know.
  7. Wouldn't recommend walking as the stadium is in the far west of the city. But the subway U4 drives to the stadium (station is called Hütteldorf). You can get on the subway at station Schwedenplatz for example which is pretty much the city centre and there are also a lot of pubs and bars around where you can have a few drinks before.
  8. Ouch, not sure if I should laugh or cry ? Vienna is a great city though, especially if your're interested in culture. If you want to come here by yourself (not by club flights) you should check fights from Edinburgh to Bratislava though. It's a lot cheaper and Bratislava Airport to Vienna is about 60-90 mins bus drive which costs around 1-5 euros. As for my question, Rapid wrote on their site yesterday that it's because of security reason (officially) but they think your club wants to sell more tickets to their own fans which makes some of us not exactly happy. We might get 1.200 now which is a bit better but still not enough. Hope they can still figure out something.
  9. Our fanservice said they didn't get more tickets. Especially Glasgow is THE favourite away match in this group for most of our fans so I guess we would have come there with at least 2.000. Don't get me wrong, this shouldn't be a rant now. I just wanted to ask here if any of you could maybe explain if there is a security reason or maybe it was a fault from Rapid`s side or something else.
  10. I'm sorry to push this thread but I wasn't sure where else I should ask. We (Rapid Wien) only get 1.000 away tickets for the match at Ibrox. Is there any special reason for that restriction (normally it should be 5% of the stadium capacity according to UEFA rules)? Cheers from Vienna
