I like pacey wingers who can go past players and does have a decent delivery, obviously a bit of strength would be good as well with the SPL hatchet men.

In all honesty and extremely naively. i never even considered that scenario. I thought as soon as Rangers made him an offer of an improved salary, he wouldn't hesitate to sign.

I very much doubt we would have let Mendes go if we have to pay part of his wages. Surely Sporting have the cash available to pay his wages. Only agreed to pay �£1m if we paid his wages well that seems a pointless deal but that reporting seems rather suspect.
