They've just issued a petted lip statement:

“We are happy to reciprocate in terms of ticket allocation, something which will give us the opportunity to meet this huge demand to visit Celtic Park.”

    so much for humility.

THE Club takes this opportunity to thank supporters for renewing their season tickets in record numbers.

The deadline for renewals was last week and we received more than 40,000 renewals, which is far in excess of the previous highest level achieved in Rangers’ long history. This figure is truly inspiring and can only help boost the confidence levels of Steven Gerrard and his new management team as they prepare for the new season.

Following the closure of the renewal deadline the Club seeks applications from supporters who did not hold season tickets for the prior season. This has long been part of our Club’s tradition as it allows new and younger supporters, who did not previously own a season ticket, to secure one for the first time.

We have already received an enormous number of requests in advance of the close of the renewal date and we have had to consider carefully how best to accommodate these supporters in light of the record renewals.

Our supporters will always come first and as many of them as practically possible must be accommodated. That is why the Club has decided on an overall increase in the total number of season tickets available to our supporters to what will be a historical record. A further announcement on the final new ticket allocation will shortly be made available on the Club’s website.

An unfortunate consequence of putting our supporters first is that this increased demand negatively impacts on the number of tickets which will be allocated to visiting teams. This means all visiting fans will now be situated in the corner between the Broomloan and Sandy Jardine Stands.

We believe that this is the best possible outcome after considering the unprecedented levels of support from Rangers fans.

    Together we are Rangers.

McLaughlin from the BBC is stood outside Ibrox at the complex on the corner of the main and Broomloan - just where he deserves to be - hopefully the club ensure that he and the cesspit that is BBC Scotland remain on the outside looking in of the biggest footballing story in Scotland since.... Rangers made the UEFA Cup Final in 2008.  Its all about the Rangers you see

My son is a teacher and came home from work to see one of his pupils dogging school to be at Ibrox:D

Can't believe how excited I am.  With virtually no reason to be so.  Trepidation and concern should be emotions we feel right now, but screw that, I am excited about what the future holds !!

    I just re-newed my season tickets:rfc:.

"Seriously, has there been any individual in the past 20 years who has done more to raise the profile of Scottish football with one single act than the Australian?"

"If it wasn’t for Rogic, there also wouldn’t be any Rodgers. Subsequently, there wouldn’t be any Gerrard."

It's unlikely but I wonder if he has ambition to own part of the club? Or could he be the choice of future investors? The world of Rangers is so convoluted that anything is possible.

That's one of the rumours doing the rounds. Former liverpool owner from USA to invest and wants Gerrard. Ihave no idea if its true.

Warnock is light years ahead of Gerard as a candidate.

Can someone explain what's exciting about the prospect of Gerard coming in? No wrong answers just don't get it personally.

As a person the rumours and acts have always made him look a bit daft and his managerial career is middling at best tho very early days. Think the comments of him attracting players makes no real sense tbh. Why would any player base their career moves on a untested manager just because he was a great midfielder in his day? Can't see people forgoing money or decent league or European football to play for Gerard !!

Doesn't in anyway mean he can pass that knowledge on. If being a great player attracts players why don't we bring in gazza??

What's going to generate bigger headlines Warnock or Gerrard?

In terms of managerial experience Warnock is light years ahead. It would be a safe appointment ( not forgetting it won't happen due to Charles Green connection), however surely you can see the excitement in a big name appointment that would put the club in a positive light with the media over Europe and possibly the world.

I get the fact he has no managerial experience, but Jim Bowen once said " That's the gamble".

It will obviously sell season tickets and replica strips.

I don't think there is any alternative other than to allow Murty to continue until the end of the season  in charge of the first team. All that remains is EL qualification.

But the board really must address the manager's position at the end of the season. Of all the names mentioned only Steve Clarke should be of any interest.

Do you not think Jimmy Nicholl is qualified to take charge until the end of the season?
