  1. I believe that it was actually based on what the administrators said at their first press conference. I will wait until they confirm it before I accept that the wee tax case is included in it.

It should be remembered that Whyte committed to pay off the wee tax case himself.

He did, however HMRC slapped a large fine on the bill. This is what he is disputing is it not?

  2. It's a good question and I don't know the answer to it.

There's been a suggestion that Ticketus would still be due some cash, but we don't know the ins and outs, and we would need to see the contract to discover what the story is.

would Ticketus be due the cash from Whyte or his secured guarantee?

  3. Don't see that it makes mucgh difference. We have still funded the repayment of the bank laon through season ticket money. The fact that Whyte has secured it outside the company only becomes relevant if we were somehow not able to fulfill that obligation.

so if only say 10,000 seson tickets are sold what then?

    sorry for being thick

  4. As far back as November 2010, at the start of the takeover plans and long before there was any discussion about approaching Ticketus, Sir David Murray and Lloyds Banking Group were provided with – and were satisfied with – proof of funds amounting to £33 million. It was several months later, when negotiations were still on-going that the proposed Ticketus deal – ‘100 per cent the best deal for Rangers’– was mooted.

where did the £33 million go to?

  5. i don't think this was plan A for him, i think it was B or c.

No euorpean Money must have had a huge effect. I think he was left with no option down this route.

However it's the brazen was he has done things and shafted half the SPL into the bargain that sticks in my craw.

  6. Why would Craig Whyte tell everyone of his intentions ?

Why ? "Yes, hello, I'm Craig Whyte I'm going to buy the Club for a pound and take it into administration as soon as possible"

Can anyone offer up a valid and positive reason why he wasn't "economical" with the truth ?

Not only the HMRC breathing down our neck, tim bloggers, bbc tims and mhedia tim bastards all scratching for dirt as well as the last board(and they have turned out to be self serving, greedy incompetent arseholes.

What was he supposed to do ? Tell the support what he was going to do but make them promise not to tell anyone !

Look what happened yesterday. Within hours, yes hours, of an intention to apply for administration, HMRC were on the case trying to appoint for their own administrator !

Even tonight on STV news, every item about the issue was slanted against CW because of the £9m tax etc..very little about Murray's £75m "dream".

The game is off, the game is off !.said STV....and then near the end of the sport they said it was on. Either very incompetent or trying to "sexy" it up! I knew the game was on mid afternoon for fucks sake as did all who twitter.

I once lost my job and went to College. I was due mortgage payments which I simply could not pay. I knew I was going to lose my house no matter what. Should I have tried to pay whatever I had to the mortgage, leaving us with nothing for food, power etc. or should I just have waited to the inevitable bankruptcy and be able to eat etc. and have the outstanding mortgage written off ?

£9m outstanding. Pay or wait for administration to reduce the amount ?

    Business is business.

So far, I think Craig Whyte has played a blinder in the face of slander, muckraking, threats, and intimidation both legal and illegal.

I for one, am quite happy where we stand.

However I will reserve overall judgement when the Fat lady gives us a song..please let it be Tina Turner.

When are we going to listen to our own advice and kick the media in to touch.

as long as it's not Whitney Houston.

  7. SPL website has crashed.surprised neither Doncaster or Regan have been asked to comment.

    SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE PRESS RELEASE

The Rangers Football Club PLC in Administration

Following Rangers FC entering administration today, the SPL confirmed that a number of sporting sanctions have been applied to the club.

An SPL spokesperson said: "As Rangers FC is subject to an Insolvency Event, a ten point deduction has been applied to its total points in the League Championship for the current Season. In addition, Rangers FC is subject to restrictions on the registration of Players with the SPL whilst in administration."

"We are seeking an early meeting with the Administrators."

    NOTES TO EDITOR

The SPL Rules in relation to insolvency (SPL Rule A6.8 to A6.20), which include an automatic 10 point deduction in the event of administration, were adopted by the clubs at a General Meeting in January 2004.

  8. Administrators say game will go ahead on Saturday as normal

"I can assure all Rangers supporters that all aspects of the administration will be carried out with the interests of the Club firmly in mind. As a first step, the administration team will ensure that Saturday's match at Ibrox will proceed as planned and all other routine Club business will continue."
  9. Club Statement

    http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2610942

FOLLOWING today's court proceedings in Edinburgh, Rangers Chairman Craig Whyte issued the following statement.

"As a consequence of court proceedings instigated this morning by HMRC, the board of Directors has regrettably taken the decision to appoint administrators with immediate effect.

"The Club did not want nor anticipate having to take this course of action today but had no option. We had hoped that continued dialogue with HMRC would mean that a decision on administration would not have to be taken for 10 days while all other avenues were explored.

"Due to its cost structure, the Club has been loss making for many months. This situation has resulted in increasing liabilities and the Club has been in discussion with HMRC regarding these liabilities.

"These liabilities combined with the threat of the outcome of the first tier tax tribunal left the Club no option but to formally restructure its financial affairs.

"It goes without saying that administrators will work towards a solution that will be in the interests of the Club and its creditors. At no stage has a solution been sought where my personal interests were put before the Clubs. The Club and our supporters come first.

"It remains our firm belief that the Club's future can be secured and we hope this period of administration will be as short as possible.

"As Chairman and a Rangers fan, it is very painful to see the Club being deducted 10 league points but I would urge all Rangers supporters to rally round Ally McCoist and the team in these difficult times."

David Whitehouse and Paul Clark, of Duff and Phelps, will conduct the administration.

Paul Clark said: "As administrators we have a statutory duty to act in the best interests of all creditors and we will fulfil that function diligently.

"We fully recognise the great history of this club and what it means to people throughout the world.

"Whilst today is a sad day for Rangers, it also addresses the terrible uncertainty that has been hanging over the Club. The administration period, while difficult for all involved, will give stability to the Club in order to move forward.

"I can assure all Rangers supporters that all aspects of the administration will be carried out with the interests of the Club firmly in mind. As a first step, the administration team will ensure that Saturday's match at Ibrox will proceed as planned and all other routine Club business will continue."

  10. In 12 games I doubt it. You are mathematically correct, but do you honestly believe yourself that we will ? I dont.

On top of that, they turned it round without the spectre of possibly losing their jobs being on the line whilst they tried to claw back that deficit.

It is very unfortunate that Naismith got injured when he did or we may have still had a 10+ points advantage and just made the league race interesting.

    i don't,

however losing the league by 9 points or less would be nice.just to show them we could have won it without administration.

  11. Find a reputable law firm and start funding an escrow account.

We wouldnt get anywhere near the money needed though, sadly.

    who RSA or RST?

There has to be someone credible to start the ball rolling.

with all due respect all that i can see for now is fans wanting to put money in willy nilly.this will get nowhere.

there has to be a concerted effort from prominent players, fans and politicians.
