  1. legally required shareholder 'circular' which we should have received a couple of weeks back.

Is it definitely a legal requirement???

Thought I read in the Records (possibly the interview with Brian Dempsey), that it wasn't a legal requirement and that CW could opt to do nothing....However, sending out the circular was HIGHLY recommended.

  2. Hopefully, now that the season is over, further details will emerge.

The impression I got was that CW didn't want to detract/distract from the playing side too much. Now that the League Flag is in its rightful home, there maybe some backroom movement or press conference etc to allow questions to be asked/answered, and to layout the road forward.

  3. just because no comment has been made publicly about the singing/chants, doesn't mean that its not been mentioned.

I would hope that publicly, they are showing support in condemning the incident, but behind the scenes preparing a full report to submit to the SFA/SPL/FARE/UEFA/FIFA/Samaritans etc....

  4. given the choice I would rather keep Lafferty than Diouf.....

EHD, just doesn't really offer anything....he does a decent amount of running, with no end result. At least Lafferty gets a few goals....

  5. The Paul Murray proposal appears to have major flaws as well, and he has failed in explaining the benefits and how it would work going forward. It's not something that we can get excited about as it it currently stands.

Thats something that occurred to me (hence the OP)....reports in the press have stated that one of the concerns with the CW deal, is future funding, and how the club is going to move forward. Exactly the same questions should be asked of the PM offer....it would be great for next season having £25m to spend, but what about the seasons that follow??? That is something that needs clarification from the present board IMHO.

  6. I think i would prefer the devil I know....

IF we go down this route.....there is a strong possibility that in a few years, we will be in exactly the same position???

My opinion is that the PM offer simply papers over the cracks....it does not deal with the real issue. Its like finding £20 in your jacket pocket, when you've reached your overdraft limit - it will ease the problems for a short time, but before long, your back where you started!!!

CW may be moving the debt else where, but HE will be in control of it, not the bank. this may mean that re-payments are easier on the pocket etc.

Also, from what I understand, under PM's offer, SDM & LBG will still be in control....even though SDM has made it clear that he wants out....is that the best way forward, having a Chairman who doesn't really want to be there???

  7. What happens if the Paul Murray deal goes through???

£25m is ploughed into the squad in the summer & McCoist gets to rebuild the squad with some quality players....excellent news for next season!!!

However, what happens then??? The pocket money's gone, but the wages still remain, as does the bank debt - even though I would imagine it being reduced further.

The team would have a good chance of winning the league, possibly at least one other domestic cup, and would hopefully do quite well in Europe - more likely Europa cup rather than Champ league though.....all being revenue that has been achieved over the past couple of years.

How will the club be able to afford to keep the new quality that McCoist has just brought in??? Does the club then develop into a feeder club for the big boys down south??? Profit being generated by bringing players in for a season, then selling on....

Also, How is the £25m being raised??? My understanding is that it is being UNDER-WRITTEN by P Murray & his backers.....does that not mean that xx number of shares are put up for sale, and if the total value does not meet the target, PM & his backers make up the difference ie. Share sales raise £15m, the PM & his backers have to stump up the additional £10m. Who is buying the shares - THE FANS!!!! Possibly some large chunks being bought by various wealthy folk, but in the main it would be the average fan coughing up the money. If the share sales raise the full £25m....it cost PM & his backers nothing!!!!

My view is that the CW deal should bring the club onto a more financially stable platform ie no £20m debt. Therefore any monies/profit generated stay with the club....this in itself should generate transfer funding & enable to club to turn round an overall profit.

Time will tell the true outcome....

  8. Mission accomplished, the media have made the union jack sectarian. I'd love to see them try ban the Irish flag on March 17th...

THAT is a very valid point.......

If folk are complaining bout displaying the British Flag, in Britain....what will happen when they display the Irish flag in Britain......you can't ban one & not the other, that then gets into discrimination.....
