  1. I feel sorry for G Rae a bit, i mean when he came i never really thought he was going to be a mainstay in the first 11, but he is, or was, a good option for a back up player.

Extremely unlucky with injuries. Read on Sky Sports yesterday that he was getting fit even while on holiday, but maybe his footballing abilities are not what they were.

Good luck to all three anyway, if/when they leave.

  2. New Rangers manager Paul Le Guen met the Scottish media for the first time and declared his intentions to immediately wrest the Bank of Scotland Premier League title back from rivals Celtic.

The Frenchman is the 12th man to occupy the Ibrox hot seat and follows in the footsteps of Alex McLeish, who left the club at the end of last season.

Le Guen arrived in Scotland on Monday with an impressive record having led Lyon to three consecutive titles before taking a year-long sabbatical from football.

And before stepping out to an enthusiastic reception from excited Rangers fans who had assembled outside the front door of Ibrox, Le Guen served notice on Hoops boss Gordon Strachan that he intends to relieve the Parkhead men of their title next season.

He said: "I hope that I'm here for at least three years and first of all I want to win the title in the first year, that is my first goal.

"I know that it will be difficult but we have this objective.

"I know Scottish football, I have played against Celtic many times and I watched some games last season.

"But football is football. We will try to play well but above all we will try to win.

"Rangers made me feel welcome and it was most important to feel that my staff and I would be working in good conditions.

"People in France are surprised (that he became Rangers manager) but never mind.

"I am very satisfied and that is the most important thing for me."

Rangers chairman David Murray reiterated Le Guen's hopes of bringing success back to the Ibrox club.

However, Murray admitted his new boss would not have the funds that previous managers enjoyed.

He said: "We welcome Paul to Rangers and we're delighted to have him for what we hope is a very exciting, new winning era at Rangers.

"We thank Alex McLeish for the bringing success in previous years and managing the club during a difficult time.

"But we feel that we have been very fortunate in securing one of the most exciting, promising and successful managers in Europe in Paul Le Guen.

"We have a common goal, we must win the title back. The expectations at Rangers are very high and we're not used to not winning trophies.

"But we haven't given Paul tens of millions of pounds like previous managers, he was aware of the budget when we talked.

"And I can honestly say that when it came to talking money and wages in our negotiations, it took 10 minutes.

"I said to him that I would like to give him more money but we are running the club financially and fiscally different from previous years.

"It was never about how much we were spending on players, it was about a good understanding, a mutual respect and that is the foundation of any future relationship.

"Several million pounds will be made available but nobody at Rangers ever said there would be £10million or £20million pounds.

"If players go or are sold, the money will be made available but that was agreed at the offset.

"Whether it's Rangers, Celtic or Hearts, nobody has a bottomless pit of money now, we are in a different era."

The Rangers players went through double training sessions on their first day back and the Frenchman hinted that his charges can now expect a tougher regime at Ibrox.

He said: "We will work hard but it's normal to have discipline and work hard.

"I like good behaviour and good attitude but I don't like a lack of respect."

I must have been listening to a different interview a few months ago cause you, Mr Murray, said there would be millions to spend.

This all goes back to, as Cammy has mentioned over the years, the days with Gio, Albertz, Tugay etc left the club and we were told they would be replaced by the same calibre of player(s).

    Yet to see them....

  3. Crying out loud he's 34! Talk about a pensioner! In saying that we'll probably sign Zidane, who's about 86.

    We will?

Sorry but i still think its too far fetched. ZZ is also 34 (i think) but could easily do a job for us in the SPL for at least 2 seasons.

  4. Even if it was a Rangers top, that isnt the issue at all, and i would say the same if he was wearing a Aberdeen/Tic top.

People like that are a disgrace to the club and country that we live in.

I hope they find out who he is and who he supports to get a hefty fine/jail time and never allowed back into the ground of whatever club he supports... which isnt punishment enough IMO.

  5. I was going to go to the pub last week to watch the footie in what i was wearing, the Holland away top, but at the last minute i changed my mind.

I bought the strip because i like it, but some people were bound to have mentioned that i only bought it for the red, white and blue colours on it so i didnt bother.

  6. Brother passed Ibrox again on the way back from lunch, saw PLG outside.

He was on his own..... shouldn't Murray or Bain have been outside too?

Not a big deal but i thought that was usually 'the norm'.

  7. So is Henry Chris.... I guess he wouldn't be comforting either ? ;) My point really being that you can't label one person's qualities with someone else's just because they are both in the same WC squad...

But Henry is shit hot at club level, Boumsong aint. :D

By the way i dont think its the French teams fault that they're under performing, although you cant take all the blame from them, but i think the manager is screwing up his tactics, especially in their first game.

  8. Commentator - "Larrson made C****c fans happy and Arsenal fans miserable in the CL final, and I think he has probably made some Rangers fans happy with that goal!!"

    Yip! :D

I concur, was funny when he said that. :D

  9. I agree Cammy, he didnt play great alot of the time, but id still rather him than Bernard.

The problem with Murray, much like Zurab, is that they're versatile players and eck used that so much that no player was able to settle and call a position his own.

I dont know how much he will play this year, may just be a back up player.

Im lying in wait to see PLG's first teamsheet.

  10. I really hope Bernard gets shown the door, he's the 1 player I want to see go more than anyone else.

Hopefully PLG thinks the same as me.

Ditto, 20k a week for a position both Smith and Murray play better in.... no thanks Olly.

  11. It wasnt making the correct substitutions in my absense tho, got to be PC fault........an I dfinetely aint no whiz kid lol

Who said anything about a kid old timer? ;)

Dont have a damn clue how the points work either Gav.

Henry and Gerrard are the only ones who have actually scored goals in my team i think.
