It does but we need to get rid of this stage fright we get when they drop points.

We had made some progress on the goal difference but then Aberdeen gave them a big help at parkhead a few weeks back..

Take Aberdeen results out of the equation and we'd be top on GD with a game in hand. Annoyingly.

Looks like Angeball is bust. Yet another Spurs defeat. Will he last much longer?

I don't watch much of the Premiership, but check the results. What's the story? Have opposing coaches got wise to his gung-ho tactics, or is it a case of luck evening itself up?

Sunderland, currently 9th in the Championship have sacked Tony Mowbray.
He’s been doubtful about the policy of their Director of Football to bring in young players from round the world, develop them and sell at profit. Reported to have warned the Board that they won’t get promotion that way.

Tabloid suggestions that Beale or Muscat may be his replacement or @SykseyBear favourite, Alex Rae. Shows the kind of drivel tabloids come up with.

No doubt Mowbray will take it on the chin.

I initially misread that as SykseyBear being one of the favourites. Yet another opportunity missed by the disgraceful Rangers board, I thought to myself disgustedly.

Would it be anti-semitic of me to say that Israel should not be in EUFA as they are not in Europe?

No, not anti-Semitic, but it would be anacronymistic (to invent a word) - which is almost as severe a crime to some on this forum!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Israel in UEFA because of the anti-Semitism of many of their AFC neighbours?

I've felt for a long time that the dressing room suffers from a malign influence and suspect the removal of a couple of individuals could go a long way to solving the problem.

We shouldn't underestimate the gap that Gerrard left either. He was a hero to the players; a leader capable of inspiring the dressing room and instilling team spirit.

He always seemed able to get the players to give a bit extra.

Compo is like the First Halfwit, Humza a former pupil of Hutchesons' Grammar School for Boys'. Strictly two and a tanner men, three bob if an egg banjo was included.

I had to Google "egg banjo". I thought (read, hoped) it was going to be something kinky.

Im no great lover of the Scotland team and it’s support but I thought they were hard done by getting that goal chopped off last night

Once again VAR the culprit. It was brought in to reduce wrong decisions but seems more and more to be creating wrong decisions

VAR has done very little to improve the consistency of decision making, that's for sure.

The officials seem to be influenced by the enormity of the decision, and spend more time forensically examining a call by a referee if it's a pivotal one in the game (or season). The result being that big decisions are more likely to get overturned on technicalities that are routinely overlooked the rest of the time.

I think Muscat is worth waiting for tbh. I was already keen on him but after listening to a podcast with a Japanese football expert I'm 100% sold. He sounds like the perfect antidote to aimless and passionless rubbish we've had to endure. I also get the feeling that we don't get him someone else will.

    It's a tough one.

I'd argue that Muscat's loyalty to his current club is a positive trait. And there are great value signings to be had in the Asian market, so his knowledge in that area could be a real positive.

What do we do for the next few months though? There's too much at stake for us to have a rookie caretaker manager over that period.

Hopefully Davis doesn't get that long.

Is there a man on this Earth that can get this squad motoring?  I have my doubts.  They're like a bunch of lost wee lambs.

I'm sure the right manager can do it.

Think of the turnaround from Pedro to Gerrard. Tav and Alfie, for example, went from the abject display in Luxembourg, to top performers in the Europa League.

It won't be easy to replicate that, but we've seen that it can be done.
