  1. Forever Grateful to the new board....only months away from iireversible damage to the club under the previous regime....still a mountain to climb but at least there is one to climb.

  2. Just to reassure you, I don't want him long term . . . but, we also might see a winning team.

Honestly cannot see younger Managers taking this on unless they are promised something longterm.

You do have a point, perhaps we could offer him some of Ally's shares/wages if he is successful ......

  3. I agree. Reading between the lines, King is ideally wanting to do his rebuild in the Championship next season.

Short term pain, long term gain.

I have to question the logic behind rebuilding the team from the championship....it will be harder to attract players, harder to motivate etcand inevitably some will not be up to premiership standard nevermind challenging for the title.

It will be two rebuilds at least ....

Really need all or bust effort to get promotion this season.

In regard about what qualities does the current board have to appoint a manager....as much the same qualities as you or me or any other board. The history of football has shown it is a hit or miss affair , a roll of the die...hope to hell we ht double 6 ...Ferguson chose Moyes ...

  4. This is not rocket science. The situation we find ourselves in is having someone as caretaker manager who doesn't want the job & needs to be replaced at the earliest opportunity as I'd suggest as he looks hopelessly out of his depth in the role

Reading the comments from King & Murray they may not have decided who they want as next manager which is perfectly OK.Perhaps their preferred candidate might not be available yet who knows.

But in the meantime why not get Stuart McCall to take charge of the team between now & the end of the season at least? He has got plenty of coaching & managerial experience which is ideal given our current predicament.I wouldn't think it would take an exorbitant contract to persuade him to take over as he's out of work at present. And if he does well we can extend his contract as we go on.

If we aren't promoted then it would hardly be all attributable to McCall as the damage was more or less done prior to his arrival.

For me it would be a win-win situation for both Rangers & McCall. The status quo is simply not an option.

Have to agree and there are other candidates too.....

  5. Factoring in that we may be in either league next season was always going to be the best course of action, but we're sinking without trace now. People say we'll get humped by Hibs in the playoff... but we're in danger of not even being in the playoffs to get humped!

QotS and Falkirk, I consider, are now breathing down our necks.

The problem is the situation arising of facing Hibs next season again for an automatic promotion place.....

I still maintain we must bring in an interim coach to fight for promotion.

  6. Exactly, listing is an irrelevance...

Why would the club wish to be at the mercy of insutional investors or banks again given the corruption and waste is beyond me.

I would hope we could run on a profit basis from now on in. Anyone fancy another dodgy loan or admin ?

  7. A funny physiological change came over to me today. I used to have a few years ago and now it's returned.

When I think of Rangers I smile :D

Exactly, ever since Whyte took control, it has never been the same and Easdales invovement was a particular low....Yeah when i think of Rangers I can now sleep easy.

A big thank you Mr King...O genuinely believe we were but a few months away from permament decline / damage to this incredible and wonderful football institution.
