Best of luck to the legal team, but trading laws in the UK are not set up for the benefit of the customer, so there's no chance at all that 'common sense' will be applied - that was a (presumably) one off aberration which you'll wait a long, long time to see a court repeat.

 

If Ashley has his legal cards in order we have no chance, regardless of how onerous or self defeating a contract may be. But I like the cut of Rangers' arguments, they seem based on reasonably solid legal objection.

What company would sign a deal where they receive five pence in every pound spent on their merchandise/brand surely the 'common sense' argument applies even more.

I would like to know what players where in the EBT scheme and if it was a factor at all for signing for a massive club that was successful in it's domestic league in front of 50,000 fans every week and also playing in the champions league.

The guy oozes class.

His agent will be giving him the hard sell to take the big money and look after his family and the other usual agent talk like It's a short career , get in the shop window for the EPL and play in the champions league.

Great player is a bit over the top. He had one good season with Rangers and the rest was south of mediocre .

I know your stating the obvious but it's not really the time or post to debate his career , I have seen first hand how this horrible disease tortures the individual and those close to them.

Took my wee boy to his first Rangers game on Sunday and I was very impressed with Tavernier great energy and pace.

Love hearing things like this about players and even more so when the player is a defender.

To be fair it shows a bit of respect and professionalism on his part I think his colleagues should have done the same , as for the wages if a club wants to triple your wages then it isn't really the players fault. At least the wee man was there to the end trying to get us promoted we had a manager jump ship and getting paid handsomely for SFA.

It's good to have a manager who has contacts and wants to build relationships with top class clubs this will greatly improve our squad the rangers reputation and give MW and DW credentials another boost.

All this gives me a certain feel good feeling,we seem to be just going about our business and it is very unsettling for all the Rangers haters.

Just on a side note could you imagine the last board tasking two directors to acquire a management team , once they had done what Mike Ashley wanted they would have given themselves a couple of hundred thousand in bonuses for doing their jobs.

What a great signing it would be to get Danny back I could see this lad improving more and more under SDOW.
