37 is the equivalent of 32,33 when I were a lad back in the 70's & 80's. If players have looked after themselves, they are perfectly capable of playing to almost 40 nowadays. Most players won't have, or have suffered injury they can't recover from, or just plain don't want to - but Strachan showed the way almost 20 years ago, playing till he was 40, so there's no excuse for people banging on about it in 2016.

If the clubs had only pointed out that some clubs going to Stadium x or y 4 times and some only going twice was radically unfair and pretty much negates the basic idea of a league, they'd have an unanswerable case. But by chucking in the bit about finance, they let people mock them (quite fairly, too) and allow deflection.

Only caught the last ten minutes of the Croatia game but saw some fighting, lots of pyro, a steward narrowly avoiding serious accident from an exploding pyro of some sort, a nutso penalty a la Rogan, Mark Clattenburg just about abandon the game, and a centre back for Croatia whose protective hat made him look like the village idiot had been selected.

You go whole months without seeing so much action.

I don't think that it is quite "buying into the MW philosophy" because the MW philosophy is now the ONLY way at Murray Park i.e. if you don't play the MW way then you may as well leave. And rightly so. Warburton wants every team that plays 11-a-side to be playing the exact same way with the same philosophy. I was just speaking to my RFC contact this week and he confirmed it.

But that's exactly what I saw, the u-20s playing exactly the Warburton way. I can't see how any coach could get the u-20's playing more cavalier, passing, attacking football than Durrant had them doing. Maybe someone can do it better, fair enough. But when you look at the u-20's, you see (I did anyway) a team playing identically to the 1st team with two or three Ian Durrants moving between midfield and attack, gliding into the spaces, setting up whatisname that was on loan at Raith.

I'm like John on this one, as a player Durrant was like nothing I'd ever seen before or have since tbh. Even if he could pass on 1% of how he played we'd still be up on the deal.
