  1. Edmiston House is an eyesore & should be pulled down & replaced with a new building for the ticket office.

At least this banner goes some way to covering up Edmiston House

I think I'd prefer any funds available to go on the team for a wee while longer.

  2. I liked RF because it didn't engage with fan politics. The new body explicitly addresses fan politics issues so isn't for me. No idea if this accounts for the low turnout but given the disparity between the numbers who stepped up for RF and the numbers who want this new mouthpiece it is at least possible that many fans just want a team to follow.

  3. Haven't heard anything along those lines Tony but even if it's true it sounds bit ridiculous - if clubs have 'past misdemeanors' which haven't been dealt with then rather than an amnesty, they should be dealt with. Of course that doesn't apply in this instance since we've been repeatedly 'dealt with', in varying ways, depending on how the SPL/SPFL feel on any given day.

Funny how this is apparently a national, club-wide issue, yet the coverage is written by a Celtic fan and commissioned by a Celtic fan. Ho hum.

  4. That argument would stand up far better if the squad was full of untried and untested players. But when the likes of Mulgrew and Whittaker are in, players whom "Strachan knows what they can do", then it doesn't stand up nearly so well.

That's a fair enough point. Still suits me well enough that Wallace isn't picked up and if, as you might hope, his omission is as a result of a phone call between Warburton & Strachan all the better.

  5. By unifying, Club 1872 will already hold over a 5% shareholding in Rangers. 10% will be possible in a short space of time.

Does anyone know what the division is between RF and RST regarding current share holding? I seem to remember reading RF were just about at 5% already but could be completely wrong.

As a united group it is easier for Rangers FC to lend practical support to Club 1872

    Why?

RF seemed to be doing quite nicely heading toward it's goals, this seems like a strange distraction. But it was heavily voted for by the members so there must be some reason for it.

  6. Only worry I have with this is that failure to win will be interpreted by some, even on here, as defining the season as a failure.

The fact that we're not dreading it, as any sane onlooker surely did last year's encounter, tells it's own story. Some of that is down to them being, by all accounts, completely rubbish but the job Warburton has done is inspiring.

Finally, if we could arrange to win the league the week before the semi it would be amusing to see if Celtc did the traditional applauding onto the pitch.

  7. Who is the theologian that they were overlooked for ?

If you mean Rev McQuarrie, then you are incorrect as he wasn't successful in his attempt to make the Board either.

    The Board consists of :

    Richard Gough

    Ricki Neill

    James Blair

    Greg Marshall

    Brian Donohoe

    Kelly Johnstone

    Peter Ewart

I was taking the figures from the Gersnet poll, I didn't know the vote proper had been held.

  8. I have a feeling we are trying to get another striker in. The media conference Warburton gave on 14th January ended with this statement in response to a question about Ryan Hardie giong out on loan:

“There’s lots of interest, lots of clubs want Ryan Hardie. He’s a prodigious young goal scoring talent, he’s 18 and he’s been around our first team squad. What we have to do is see what business we do. It’s a balancing act – to make sure you have the strength in depth in your squad, without hindering the progress of a young player. So if we get the squad right, maybe there’s an option for Ryan, but we’ll wait and see.”

I can't see how O'Halloran would make the squad balanced to the extent that Hardie would then be allowed out on loan - that only really makes sense if a more experienced striker comes in. we shall see.

  9. This is almost an impossible circle to square: the kind of player who we really need would cost so much as to be financially stupid, while the kind of players who are financially sensible won't lift us very much.

I guess the best solution would be a home grown player. I haven't seen much of the u-21's but none of the front men I have seen struck me as especially eye catching in terms of movement or finishing.
