  1. Expect a statement from the scum saying it WASN'T the green brigade outside the stadium singing pro Palestinian songs and committing vandalism. It was antifa/blm protesters ??

What were the police doing at this point? Standing around while they threw paint and sprayed walls?

We all know what comes next... ??

The Spanish league have intervened saying Messi cant leave on a free transfer and the buyer will have to pay £600 million plus  this will probably be decided by the courts,

This is going to be interesting. Why have the league got a say in this?

I didn't just mean this season - they have developed a habit of nicking goals at the death for some time now. I still think goal difference could be crucial and I'm sure SG realises that.

Too early really to be worrying about that. Itten and Roofe are still to hit their stride in the team and we've got Defoe and Aribo to come back. Gerrard said himself in the post match interview that these are the games we should be looking to bag a few more goals so seems he's aware of it.

But if the defence keep going as they are for the majority of the season then we'll win the league.

Arsenal won the league years ago winning most of their games 1-0.

  4. Impressive performance by us today. Borna is on a premium level with his deliveries. Stoked for Barker, his inclusion was met with negativity on the Rangers FB post announcing the line up, he certainly shut a few up today. We look solid at the back, Kent looking good, Itten and Roofe with more minutes getting used to our play.

Balogun and Aribo still to come back...

What a difference a week makes.

Well done Gerrard for mixing it up as he did today.

  5. We missed Aribo yesterday as some already said but I actually think big Balogun would have been an asset yesterday. He has already shown he can ping a ball 50 yards into feet plus he likes to take the ball for a run.

That being said we had enough talent out there to win that game.

I'm for keeping Gerrard n co in charge but I can't for the life of me understand why this problem hasn't been solved yet. Maybe it's just going to take us pumping one of these lot convincingly to finally get it through to the players heads, that to win these games you have to go to different lengths.

Absolutely NO reason to front the formation we did given the opponents faced. It is not like we didn't know who or what Livi were about.

Why are we lining up four at the back with two CDMs for a team who have no attack? Why?

A formation designed for a team with offensive threats... e.g. NOT Livingston.

    Rangers had 78% possession.

Yet they sat...in that same formation the entire GD game trying the same things for 90 straight minutes...AGAIN.

He just kept slapping more speed on his failed plan....he sent in Roofe...and Barker who spun their wheels...

Gerrard is NOT cutting it. This is a tactics problem...this is not about our players...this is a coaching strategy problem.

    A Thought.

I may be risking the ban hammer here...but.

Gio van Bronkhorst is sittin in China right now...the guy won the league with Feyenoord (first in 18 years) ...and a League Cup as their manager (4 yrs).  He has played in the SPL, and understands the Scottish game.

    And he is managing...in China.

Me doesn't think Rangers would be a hard sell.

If I were upper management at Gers I might give old Gio a call...just to check up on him. See how much he likes China...get that friendly rapport growin.  Ya never know...one never knows...just a thought.

    I agree it's a tactical problem.

I'm asking myself what the epthasis of our attack is? The epthasis or much of our attack is to get the ball wide and then crossed in by our full backs hence us having the 2 DM's with one covering left and the other right to plug gaps left by the full backs.

The problem with the system is Hagi and Kent don't score headers which leaves Morelos and Aribo or today Arfield.

We know it works in Europe so why not against Livingston etc? Well it's because they set up to defend and we're not fast enough to hurt them when they turn the ball over.

I don't think bringing in a new manager is the answer as that'll mean a brand new style of play, players etc. We've invested a lot in Gerrard and I'd like to see him finish building.

It's completely possible that when Roofe is fit he'll make up one of the front 3 alternating with Kent or Hagi and Roofe is pretty good in the are. Itten is also good in the air.

Even then though we need more through the middle.

  7. I thought off the evidence of the Sheep game we were tweeking our game to handle this problem. But it was much the same as last season.

Glaringly obvious what was the issue today, whenever they turn the ball over, Jack/Kamara or whoever picks up the ball take too many touches and take the safe option.

Morelos didn't drop deep to receive today like he did in the first match, a simple tactic that creates space in behind.

As well as being very frustrating to watch it's somewhat amazing to me that we can't work this out.

You need good movement and quick forward passing to cause disruption but it's very slow and predictable from us.

Crossing was good today from Tav and Borna but again predictable going through them.

I'm looking for Jack and Kamara to get involved more. If one of them plays into one of our front 4 then follows the pass and receives back then space has opened from the defender shadowing our attacker. Jack or Kamara then needs to play forward to one of the other 3 attackers who should then play off that 4th attacker who first receives from jack/Kamara and off we go.

While this happens, depending what side of the pitch it is, Borna or Tav can tuck in for jack/Kamara.

Got to pull defences around. All we make them do is shuffle side to side and defend crosses.

If one or say two schools have an outbreak, or break propocal, will Sturgeon close down the entire education system?

As @Frankie says rather convenient that all clubs will be punished for Celtic and Aberdeens folly and Celtic come out of the whole scenario unpunished and a full week to prepare for a CL qualifier.

Corupt,? will, you can a draw your own conclusions

It's a shame this didn't happen in 2008 right around the time of the Uefa cup final?

  9. Wow we look so ordinary and that's a compliment to them. They press very quickly and hunt in packs.

Easier said than done but the middle of the park is very busy with their pressing. We need to try and utilise the ball over the top for the wide boys to get onto, it's unlikely to happen going through the middle.

  10. I'm very happy we've bolstered the front line with 2 new additions.

The other night i saw a rerun on you tube of the CL final between Utd and Bayern. Utd started that match with Yorke and Cole and brought on Sherringham and OGS.

More we have up there the better, and it looks like we've brought in quality as well as quantity. Slight question mark over Roofe's robustness but he's a great finisher and has that arrogant streak all good strikers need.

    Imagine if Alfie stays:seal:

  11. That was a great read...

On the game, we've got absolutely nothing to lose here. I hope we go there with our chest puffed out and just have a go.

We know how to play away from home in Europe and although this is a top side, we can hurt them.

Have a go lads, stranger things have happened.

Kent, Hagi and Aribo are definitely capable of winning matches.  Time will tell whether they can do it consistently.

That's the big question isn't it? Hagi's touch wasn't quite there yesterday.

A lot of pressure on Kent and Hagi to fulfil theae roles at their young ages and as you rightly point out, consistently.

It's always difficult to win up there but my main concern relates to our inability to kill teams off.  We were well on top for most of the first half.  The second half performance was poor.

This season looks very much a 'more of the same'.

I disagree slightly. It is concerning we didn't kill the game off but that was down to us not shooting enough (Jack not pulling the trigger from 20 yards), a goal line clearance and a great last ditch tackle on Aribo.

I actually think we have a lot more movement in the front 3 this year as they're being more interchangeable.

Also, Aribo is being more brave than last year. He's really driving into space when he gets the chance.

I think it's different from last year because as we all know we were too side to side or didn't have a penetrable pass or run.

I don't think that was the case yesterday.

I noticed something we seem to be trying is a wall pass tactic.

Midfielder plays it in to a front man who first times it back with a defender on him. Our attacker then spins out and one of the other attackers comes into that space to receive with the intent to turn in that space towards goal or play in the first attacker.

With some fine tuning this will cause defences headaches.
