  1. One of my all time favourites came near the end of last season when Bougherra had his red card v Aberdeen rescinded when some deranged bheast came out with "If the huns go on to win the league it will be an empty and phyrric victory". Not sure the bouncy at Tannadice in May felt empty and phyrric but there you go :D

As I've said before, if they didn't exist we'd have to invent them.

Nothing worse than a deluded mhank with half an education.

    :giruy:

  2. Ill health means I won't be working for quite a while. Murray looks like he's finally leaving Ibrox so it's safe to return without putting money into his pocket.

Work commitments and that snake were my reasons for not attending to see a team I've supported since the early 60's.

In the process of buying a season ticket so I might catch up with one or two Bears from this Forum pre/post match over the next few months.

    :spl:

  3. I recall back in the very early 70's we were playing the mhanks in a Cup Final. A few days before the game they lost Yogi Hughes and Jimmy Johnstone through injuries.

I'd never felt so confident of winning.

    We lost 4-1. :(

  4. Were they banned for the v-sign ? How do you know pete ? Or are you only taking that from one side of the story ? ;)

See, you know less than Boyd does about that situation yet you feel entitled to comment on it, yet by the same token you feel that Boyd shouldnt voice his opinion on it when he would have been much closer to the situation than any of us.

He would have been asked those questions and he is entitled to his opinion the same as the rest of us. It is very common knowledge that there were MORE players involved. All Boyd is saying is what MANY Gers fans are saying which is "why did the rest not also get punished" ? I think he is quite entitled to do so.

And as gisa said, you have no idea whether he has already spoken to Levein or not, yet you felt that you should comment on it despite not knowing. My point being, you dont think Boyd should talk about things which in your opinion he knows nothing about - yet you are doing the exact same thing.

He has been asked the question by the press and knew enough about the situation to comment. I see no harm in him doing so.

Ferguson and McGregor WERE banned for the v signs Bear. The fact they were on the bench shows they weren't banned for partying.

  5. If Boyd or any of the others find their way back into the squad they'd better be prepared for a [very] large section of the Scotland fanbase giving them abuse.

They seem to have a real problem with Rangers players. :(

  6. Whittaker was left to cover the whole of the right wing on his own too many times. I've a lot of time for the boy but no doubt, he was begining to take a beating out there on his own. It can be no coincidence that the matches he took the worst slatings for also saw our entire midfield fail to turn up at all.

Hopefully, a few matches out will give him a chance to get his confidence back.

    btw.............he ain't a full back.

  7. Calscot..............I don't think anybody seriously expects a Rangers team to beat the likes of Barcelona nowadays.

However, they should be able to handle the basics of football. Controlling a ball, being able to find a team mate with a pass, talking a throw-in, etc.

We're talking about guys who're earning VAST amounts of money here. [not as much as Messi or Ronaldo, but still a fortune by the standards of the average working man].

    :(

  8. What really depresses me is, our players NEVER pass a ball first time. For some reason, this basic skill seems to be beyond them. Every single player seems to need to stop the ball to bring it under control before attempting a pass.

Not to mention being incapable of passing a ball to a team mate allowing him to move FORWARD onto it. Invariably the guy receiving the ball will have to either check out of a run or go backwards to pick it up.

FFS, I was taught that at the Lifeboys when I was about 10. :(

  9. To quote Walter...................

""The easiest thing in the world for the financial people to do is to cut costs by getting rid of a manager and bringing in someone else on a lesser wage.

"I think that was PROBABLY thought about in the earlier part of the year"

    Total non-story.

  10. I always find it a bit insulting when you get a player who has contributed little due to bad form and injury, then says he needs to go elsewhere due to lack of games. Where's a mirror when you need one.

I suspect his mirror is facing South Africa right now.
