Cantwell is that magic creator that people thought Kent was. Great signing.

We had multiple chances to win ... but we didn't and that will forever be the legacy of this Rangers team.
Threat up front is still a big difference for me. They have natural goalscorers in those positions and we don’t.

The goal should have stood, and Beale can’t legislate for those massive errors. Not a bad performance but an incredibly frustrating and disappointing outcome.

Raskin has been very good

Davies not close enough. McGregor should save it.

The classic Hail Mary dive when a defender is in trouble

So many good performances. We lacked cutting edge as usual, and still scored 4. Cantwell is just a joy to watch. He’s just a totally different type of player to what we had before and exactly what we needed in this league.

Stats always tell us something useful but how much volume does it really speak to compare Kent to Kyoto, who spends his days parked in front of goal while Kent is asked to provide width.
There are 5 Celtic players in that list who play Kent’s position. The lowest score from those is 9. Kent’s is 22.

Goals are too important to just sacrifice in his position.
It’s like settling for a defender with a lot of qualities but who’s poor in the air. It’s an Achilles heel, not something we can just accommodate for.

but how Kamara played the full 97mins is beyond me
Incredibly frustrating after the Hearts performance.

Real positive for me is Raskin.
He looks like a dynamic type, who can carry the ball and has the technical ability to do somthing useful with it.
I’m just hoping we can get Raskin, Cantwell and Tillman playing together. We’ll be so much better to watch.

Loved that assist from Cantwell today. He’s exactly the kind of player we’ve been missing, a joy to watch. Tillman such a big player for us too, the combination of creativity and goal scoring is something we haven’t had in that position.

We play with one striker who isn’t a finisher or poacher. When he’s on his game he can do the other stuff well but his finishing is the weakest part of his game. Colak had pretty much equalled Morelos’ goal tally for the past 3 seasons prior to the break. I can understand why Beale is considering playing both.
Morelos had an xG of 0.98 today. Pretty poor not to score from that.

Dont think we need Lundstram and Jack together for this game.

Nothing wrong with the tweet. That kind if thing is just normal with footballers these days. More important is that he is serious about working hard. Big few months ahead for him.

Agree, the one thing that can't be aimed at him is laziness, he might look that way at times but it has more to do with his timing when picking his moment to nick the ball from an opponent which he does often.
I think it’s fair to say that he can improve his stamina though. This is his first season of real football so maybe it’s to be expected.

The Goldson-Davies partnership was always going to end the chaos at the back.
Our record with and without Goldson:
Without
8 games, 1 clean sheet, 8 conceded, 4 wins
Since return
8 games, 5 clean sheets, 6 conceded, 7 wins
If you limit it to the Goldson-Davies partership that comes down to 4 conceded in 7, and 2 of those were to Celtic.
Edit: Just checked pre Goldson injury and they were partnered 3 times in the league and got 3 clean sheets. I forgot cup games too, that adds 1 clean sheet in 2 games.6 -
Amazing to see Kamara finding his 20-21 form under Beale. I think something just wasn’t working in Gio’s system, and it’s maybe taken a bit of time for Beale to correct it. If he can continue like that he’ll be like a new signing.

Well, the excitement is officially back!
Suddenly we have an entertaining team, packed with creativity and flair.
Slowly but surely, the bench is starting to look stronger too. Jack, Colak, Cantwell and Lowry on the bench last night.
Raskin, Roofe, Hagi, Lawrence, Souttar/Helander and Yilmaz are all to be added to that.
A run of three reasonably straightforward games now to bed in Raskin and Cantwell and to iron out the creases before the 26th!

Wouldn’t worry my arse about height or lack of it proper football is played on the ground
Aerial attack is the route every team in this league except Celtic take against us. They try to win set pieces and then just get it in the box. Aerial ability is very important, it’s our main vulnerability domestically by a mile.

My main concern, apart from the financials, is the lack of height in the team in midfield and forward line coupled with our inability to deal with high balls in the penalty box
I agree with that. We are poor in the air and Raskin, Yilmaz and Cantwell coming in will actually make it worse.

I could never understand why Yilmaz didn't immediately take the LB slot. Maybe it was a settling in thing but nothing usually speeds up settling in than knowing you are first choice.
From memory, I think Barisic caught form at that time. He’s also top for assists this season and doing well in a range of stats.
Yilmaz impressed me though and I think he’ll improve us when he starts playing.3 -

Beale said a few weeks ago that he wants to give Sands a run at DM
The stats I’ve seen on Sands as a DM are not promising. I do wonder if they erroneously included his games at centre back though, which would heavily skew the stats. But they basically showed that he is good defensively but has extremely low contribution creatively.

More or less secured 3rd place and European group stage football, while beating us. That's as good as it gets for them.
