Benfica ... "never in real danger" 🤪
They got a penalty, after VAR. They got an own goal to level the first game, now they got a offside goal ruled good by VAR.
This lot didn't deserve to go through any more than we did, but given our lack in strength today, we can hold our heads high. This looked every minute a one-error-game and so it proved.
This season is not about Europe, so no real harm done IMHO.
NB ... we need to cut this holding of the ball in our own half and playing essentially "keep ball" amongst our centre-halfs, even when time is ticking away at an alarming rate. Do a Souttar or a Balogun and run on your own!
Yes...they were shit...but we couldn't best them...so what does that make us?
If you are truly better than the other team...you walk the dog on em.
All this "they were offsides...VAR...blah blah woof woof"
If you go out and stomp ass all that falls by the wayside.
We were never any real threat.
Thems the facts.

But...we found our level, which is pretty good considering the competition.
This reminds me of that game in Europa when Gerrard was still at the helm against Bayer Leverkusen.
We didn't get the piss whipped out of us but you just knew it wasn't there.
Benfica were never in any real danger.
Onward to the next competition!

Pretty much every Benfica supporter looks like the guy who works on your car.
Come on Rangers!!

Diomonde has some really bad errors in him, doesn't he?
I'm gonna go with yes on that.

Bring on Roofe...like 20 minutes ago.

Think I'd like to see Roofe come on. Could be his type of game. Remember that goal in Belgium when the conditions were similar?
Lord in heaven let's hope so.
Dessers man...

Don’t want to be harsh, but Diomende did exactly what you don’t want in the opening minute and it sets a tone for the start of the match.
He passes backward with Stevie Wonder like accuracy.

Good write up Frankie.
It's not the chants...it's Rangers.
The leftist's sharpest tool is perpetual, terminal offense. As the leftist exists for eternal struggle. Even if all the chants went away tomorrow, there would still be something because they hate what Rangers represent.
When distilled down to a singular component, extra on field excellence, it is the monarchy. This is not about Billy boys or gallows or any of that per say. This is about Rangers and the crown.
Ask yourself this one thing. Which song, chant gets the biggest boos and whistles every game? Rule, Brittania!
This is only going to get worse. first it will be the chants, then the usage of 'Loyal', then the crest itself, then the colors, then past players, coaches, board members and their associates. This will and can never end for the leftist.
As people fill the governing bodies who are anti-loyalist, who do not view the crown positively, the pressure will increase.
I don't think Ranger's supporters quite grasp the scope of this mindset. Rangers, and the Rangers culture is a microcosm of a world which is viewed as the enemy.

Open secret that Rangers will NEVER get credit for.
I can't believe the scum have contributed that many points in comparison.
They are absolutely, tits on a bore hog worthless outside of Scotland.

That we don't know, but you intimate that we always give 30+ players a 4 year contract, I'm merely saying that we don't in my experience.
I intimated F all.

Thus ensuring the last ~1.5 years of contract, an injured/degraded player, on a high salary...
I never stated that Rangers give four year deals to all, most, any or the majority of 30+ players.
It is my believe that THIS 30+ year old player...John Lundstram...will receive that kind of deal.

Does he want to stay?
Asked about a possible contract renewal, Lundstram said: “I have never shied away from saying how much I love the club and I would love to stay but it is obviously between me and the club to sort it out.
“I hope so (it is in the pipeline) of course, but that’s between me and the club, but I would love to stay.”

I'de bet my prized pig that John is gettin a 4 year offer.

the deal needs to be right for everyone.

Rangers always overshoot the LZ.
Over 30...A 2 year deal is fair.
But it will be 4.

Rangers looked really bad for large parts of that one but our quality was just too much for them in the end.
A win is all that matters.
On to the semis.
Hopefully we draw the scum.

Nope...but they will...they almost always do.
Big picture...John has been pretty meh overall.
Good
-Routinely healthy in a squad that has an obvious voodoo curse upon it.
Bad
-Consistent when it suits John.
Meh?
-Hittin that triple X...30 Anos. Some cats it's all down from there...some it's a slow progression...everybody feels it.
Overall grade for JL? C
Not a keeper, maw.

Absolutely Bill.
Ain't no shame in losing 3-2 on aggregate to a team with a $175M roster.
Man we punch so far above our weight in Europe it's incredible.
