Listening to the introduction by Jim White regarding the state of Rangers prior to 1987 is scarily familiar to most of the current deficiencies. An unfit squad (witness Souness outrunning them), an un-ambitious board, players who simply weren’t good enough to play for Rangers, all in all, a real sleeping giant.
