Martin Jol resigns as Hamburg boss and takes Ajax role

Recommended Posts

Huistra has joined Ajax as a coach.

I thought Jol was doing a great job with Hamburg considering he was only there for 1 season.

Agree.

I did think they capitulated towards the end and the 3 defeats to Werder Bremen totally knocked the wind out of them.

I quite like Hamburg and watched a lot of their games on Setanta and he had them plaing well and you could tell the players and fans loved him.

I'm gonna put Ajax on to win their league next season as Jol is due something very soon. It was the same with Spurs with the fans liking him too and i actually hope if he does well with Ajax we could maybe pinch him the season after that.

He just seems to have that likeable touch and he hasnt won a thing either. Imagine what the fans would be like if he won something.

What is even stranger, IMO, is that Veh has taken the Stuttgart job just a couple of days after taking Wolfsburg to their first ever Bundesliga title. Strange.

I missed that one. Very odd. I can only assume it's because Stuttgart are traditionally the bigger club and probably they tempted him with cash too.

Though tbf I guess I'm not really up on the ins and outs of German football other than seeing the odd game and following the results.

I rate Jol highly, he could be the man to bring Ajax back on the map.

I thought Spurs were silly to get rid of him and he has done a good job at Hamburg. Shame for Hamburg though, Ive liked them ever since Albertz came from them and they are decent size team with a great stadium. Must have been a tough decision for Jol.

Strange one about the Stuttgart bloke though!!!! Have the qualified for Europe??
