I think if a player has played in less than 10% of matches there's a get out clause which could possibly be exploited, but Webster has already played more than that out of the full seasons fixtures, never mind fixtures till January. I seriously doubt that our injury troubles would count as 'just cause' for breaking a loan deal contract because it's entirely our own fault that we don't have cover for central defense that Walter's willing to play. That doesn't have sod all to do with the exceptional circumstances "rule", though craig is correct it is normally applied to goalkeepers. If we couldn't field a defence I reckon there would be cause. Of course it wouldn't come to that because we've got defenders officially registered to play 1st team SPL matches & even European matches that Walter apparently won't play because he'd rather play McCulloch as a defender. He is going to improve the defence! Give me Kirk ahead of McCulloch any day of the week, plus id play him ahead of Whittaker at RB.
