FORMER Falkirk manager Eddie May was back in football last night after accepting an invitation to join Rangers' backroom staff.

The 42-year-old has joined the youth coaching set-up in a part-time role under Jim Sinclair. May will start at Murray Park next month - and can't thank the SPL champions enough.

The ex-midfielder made his name developing talent such as Darren Barr and Scott Arfield at Falkirk's youth academy but has been out of work since he resigned as first-team manager of the Bairns in February.

May, whose playing career took him to the likes of Hibs, Brentford and Motherwell, said: "It's an opportunity to go to Rangers and work with the youths. I'm delighted and didn't have to think twice about it. There is no higher standard in Scotland than working for Rangers or Celtic. I can't wait to get started.

"Murray Park is simply a wonderful place to coach talented players and develop them further."

Barca sporting director or relegated SPL team's former manager?
