For the national team he was excellent under him, and he's been an excellent signing for us under Smith, despite all our misgivings. It's a blend that works. If he left he'd probably deteriorate into mediocrity again - and he's one of our most important players. Anyone watching the Newcastle match saw his predatory instinct and class finishing at work - sure, sometimes he hoofs them to row Z, but name me a striker who never misses. Smith may have been proven right with Miller but lets not go mad. He is not known from predatory instinct nor class finishing in spite of what he demonstrated with a quality strikers goal against Newcastle.
