Miller to west Brom

More than anything, with the squad the size it is, we can't let anyone else go. It just means the need for another new face, which means scouting, negotiations, fitting in etc. We have to keep everyone.

Yeah there are some serious negative attitudes on here. The other day there were posts saying if we signed Jelavic or Welcome, we should sell Lafferty. Do these people not realise the size of our squad? We need 4 or 5 player as it is, not 4 or 5 to replace 4 or 5 others

He's the best forward in Scotland by some distance. I would be gutted if we sold him' date=' a lot moreso than i was when Boyd left[/quote']

.

Boyd and Miller are like chalk n cheese, salt n pepper, ying n yang. I don't see any point in comparison at all.

Miller has been a standout in preseason, and has to me displayed why he is indispensable with our squad the way it is. If 2 strikers of better quality were to be brought in I could understand it, but better the devil you know. We know he will get goals and play well. new signings, you never know!

i don't think it's true and i can't see him going down south again when the main reason he came back was to be near his family was it not?

.

Yeah, pretty sure that was the main reason, as well as joining up with Walter & coisty.... ;)

To put it simply Miller has always played his best football under Walter Smith. For the national team he was excellent under him, and he's been an excellent signing for us under Smith, despite all our misgivings.

It's a blend that works. If he left he'd probably deteriorate into mediocrity again - and he's one of our most important players. Anyone watching the Newcastle match saw his predatory instinct and class finishing at work - sure, sometimes he hoofs them to row Z, but name me a striker who never misses.
