RFFF launch today at 1pm

Recommended Posts

IIRC, the fund is being officially launched today by the key figures involved - including fan reps and club legends.

While I look forward to this being a positive affair so we can see exactly how our support can help improve the status quo, I really hope we can apply a bit of pressure to a variety of people.

Firstly: we need the full financial picture from the administrators - are we 'safe' until the end of the season; when do they expect us to come out of admin; how does Whyte fit in; and when will their full report be?

Secondly: we need interested parties to show us what they are offering - be it a general business plan, names and background of who is involved; and how the fans can contribute going forward.

Our fans have a huge influence at the moment and we need to use that influence today to help deliver a secure future. It shouldn't be about taking sides but finding the right path forward.

Over to you Andy Kerr.

It's about bloody time something "official" was organised. There's been too much bickering and con artists out there of late.

Now, this at least may be somewhere we can trust our money, however little, can be put to the Rangers cause.

I'm also wondering how the admin can talk of negotiations between prospective bidders and HMRC. I've not heard the outcome of the tribunial yet??? How can a plan be formed when informmation such as that is not yet known???

They've not stated it officially, but the fact they've discussed how we require to save a million a month from a shortfall of around...was it 4.3M? This forces the conclusion we'll be in admin till summer - June. Maybe beyond. Unless, of course, we find a buyer before then. Whyte doesn't fit in - if he's not a secure creditor then his relationship with the club is dead and buried. No idea when they'll publish their report.

Kerr is part of this RFFF as you know. I don't really know how he can get all the answers we need. Not until we're out of admin. With admin, it's ongoing - we can get conjecture, like Whitehouse saying we don't know the fate of the 3.6M but we can't rely on it. But we can't get solid answers until loose ends are tied up and we know where we are.

Correct. I can't see a single criticism of this scheme to be perfectly honest. We're helping with the running costs.

Oh now, according to 'saverangers' we'll make at least 9M from this...aye, right. If we can get around 500k to a million through this, I'd say that's decent going.

My best guess is you don't need the outcome to be able to negotiate. I imagine bidders will envisage more than one scenario and discuss them with HMRC. And see if the solutions they have for these scenarios are acceptable.
